I wish they had gone with Ice Cube's daughter in 22 Jump St. as Iris West.
I like the humour and Grant reminds me of Andrew Garfield.

That's how CW does. Get you excited for 2-3 seasons for the story and finale, then drudge it out for 7 more word to smallville and supernatural.

I wonder if it would get the same backlash just like when it was announced that Michae Jordan was going to play the Human Torch.
it probably won't because it at least has some backing now that its in the comic first
ps. I think its bs that people complain about such things when characters look completely different all the time depending on the artist. So hy can't spiderman be donald glover etc. The only time Ill agree is for characters who's race actually matters to the story. like captain america would have to be white because a black military symbol wouldn't fly back then, unless we change the origin story which is possible

While I have no problem with Michael B Jordan playing Human Torch, I completely understand the complaint if the character was never portrayed in the comics that way before. I mean Johnny Storm was never drawn black so you can't really say "this artist interpreted him as such". There's a big difference if the white character is drawn with a different nose or different hair or different face structure because in the end the character is still white in comparison to changing the characters race.
In the end, they really just have to make a good product so that people accept it, that's how I approach it anyways. Sometimes it can also feel like just a PR to get people talking about the film, I really hope that isn't the case with F4. It's just like when Asian characters are played by white actors, like in Dragonball or Avatar, while I really try not to get into it I can see where people would get mad and the movie didn't even come close to redeeming itself because of how poor it was made. Another case was with Mandarin in IM3, I was perfectly fine because Kingsley was a great actor but the way they just bastardized the character completely ruined it, if he was just full blown the Mandarin, then he would have been great. Doesn't help that the movie wasn't very good either. Though the race issue with Mandarin was never really brought up as much after the movie probably because of how disappointing the whole movie was overall.
I never had a problem with Idris Elba playing Heimdall either but I could also see why others might not like it. He was very good as Heimdall and the movies are overall good too so it's all good in my book.

As for Wally being black (or white), they could spin it in many ways. Technically Iris West is adopted in the original version but since his dad is also black, they could just make it so that Iris's brother Rudolph be the one adopted and make him white and in the end, Wally is still white in the show.
