The movie was made to appeal to wide audience, word to the Mission Impossible type story line crossed with the Inception type soundtrack....

Had they OD'd on the scientific terminology, they would have no doubt alienated the very demographic they were trying to mystify.

The movie is equal parts science AND advertising, and well they can't sell the product if the prospective customer is left bored and/or clueless.
