LockedOn Raiders podcast mentions this dude from time to time, apparently its someone within the building thats been around for a minute but most dont know exactly who it is…just someone that speaks his own opinion on things but every once in awhile drops hints towards things….

I'm not sure how I feel about an offensive coach, but if we have to get one apparently he's the one! I really just want a stable front office and a competitive team. A team that I know the core will be around more than two seasons. Just an organization that's not a straight up embarrassment.

Sounds like he thinks he has an easier path in the NFC, and they definitely have more tools to start your career off with. He may just want to coach and not have to actually build a franchise from the ground up.

we made a big swing and couldnt hit. it is what it is. The reality is this team has too many holes, and the biggest being QB with no clear path to find one.

Pete Carroll seems to be up there in terms or HC candidates the team is high on.

idk about the rest. i dont think they’ve interviewed the other OC’s that are considered for HC jobs: Todd Monken (Baltimore) and Liam Coen (Tampa Bay)

he’s basically a free agent. he declined to renew his contract when the writing was on the wall regarding AP.

If hired, Pete would be the oldest HC in NFL history.

Lets not ignore the fact that as critical as the HC search is, the Raiders HAVE to nail the GM spot.

I was fine with Ben Johnson picking his GM, but I hope the Raiders focus in on getting the best guy now.

John Spytek seems to be the leading candidate because of the connections to Brady. He’s currently with the Bucs and could be a match with Liam Coen if the Raiders bring him in.
Chad Alexander seems to be a name circulating too because he comes from the Ozzie Newsome tree. He’s currently with the Chargers.
Brandon Brown seems to be a big name too because he helped build the Eagles over the last few years - he’s now with the Giants

The fact that they have to regroup and go back to formulating a plan B tells me they felt like they were closer to getting Ben Johnson than they actually thought they were.

This must be why a few of the beat writers felt confident that Ben Johnson was coming too, probably felt like a done deal internally.
