The last D Roses had a special edition Y3 version that was hot.
The disparagement between Nike and Adidas ain't that wide when it comes to casual appeal of the basketball lines.
Adidas trash RN but a few hot designs can put them right back in this. Especially since Nike Basketball was in a somewhat slump casually prior to the KDIV's, Kobe VI's and Lebron VII, and there started being lines and hype and lines and **** with the Pre-Heats.
Nike Basketball has been slowing down on the dopeness design wise. Especially with the Kobes. Kobe VI's were classic and the X's hot. Everything in between either trash or a rehash of the silhoutte they've been using since the 5's.
A few hot shoes + hype limited color ways/Yeezy/J. Scott/Y-3/Pharrell collabs/CWs worn by the trendsetter rappers for the youth will put them right back up there with Nike in terms of casual appeal for the consumer.
As far as these, they look cool so far but I want to see Adult Sizes + color ways. They can get real crazy color wise with that triangle thing.
like i was saying i like the y-3 d rose design, but the price was ridiculous, if they took their sigs and did something similar at a reasonable price point, i'd def give them a chance, until then i'll stick with who does. I couldn't be happier with the versatility of the lebron ext line over the last 3 sigsThe last D Roses had a special edition Y3 version that was hot.

from a casual standpoint i felt the highs were on point, and flyknit is great on the lows as well giving you a diff look than all the other runners that we're wearing casualy with fk.You don't think Kobe IXs were dope? I understand why the high top models of that shoe appealed to people but the lows and elite lows were some of the best designs from Nike Basketball in recent memory... Flyknit on a basketball shoe was an unexpected surprise (even if it didn't really have any impact on performance). The last D Roses had a special edition Y3 version that was hot.

i think it has been misused when you look at how it's done on the runners and how they did it on the IX it makes the Xs look boring, though i like the Xs better than the IXs i'm just waiting for a better cw or well a good cw to finally get oneFlyknit is a gift and a curse. The material is nice but it forces the same tired rainbow colorway
MC is cool but it's OD at this point. FK also kills color blocking
il be watching lebron nike rise Manila tour this coming wednesday, hope he's wearing lebron 13!!
Thats not even fairAlso there isn't 1 Micro G that looks better then the Kobe 9 Masterpiece. I challenge anyone to produce a pic of a high top UA shoe that looks better.
so you're saying the worst nike basketball shoe should be compared to the best UA shoe?Thats not even fairAlso there isn't 1 Micro G that looks better then the Kobe 9 Masterpiece. I challenge anyone to produce a pic of a high top UA shoe that looks better.
i can't agree with this statement not when you have the ext line that has plenty of casual wear-ability
the only adidas i like are the Crazy 8, i have the wall edition and the NBC edition, i kinda like the look of the wall2 and the rose5 but unless they're gonna make a y3 material style it's a pass bcuz i only wear them casually, and if they do make them in a y3 casual material style they better not be priced $350, nike gets my money bcuz for the most part the ext line which is all i buy has been decent quality with lots of variability
I understand where you're coming from at the end of the day it's all subjective to ones own tastemy comment was sparked by the guy that stated that he would wear an air monarch (the old man walking nike) OVER ANY ADIDAS SHOE!i can't agree with this statement not when you have the ext line that has plenty of casual wear-ability

my initial comment wasnt to compare apples to oranges...he established that comparison.
i'm older now, my tastes and my reasoning for wearing or buying shoes is completely different than it was 10 years ago...or even 5 years ago for that fact.
one may see casual appeal in the EXT line. its all opinion when it comes down to it. my opinion is that the EXT line (for lebron) outside of the lebron x cork and a few others in the X ext line are a reach at best. IMO casual appeal in the lebron line went to the crapper after the 8, with a brief return for the X.
as far as basketball brands are concerned, adidas hasnt gotten any better, nike has gotten worse.
EXT needs an overhaul, FK is so over hyped its ridiculous (and to have adidas steal the tech and make it better? SMH), elite is a gimmick and basketball shoes are now catering to the hardcore B-baller ceballos...and thats ok. for me, i'm headed to more casually wearable shoes. i played ball today and my lebron 8 3X black low worked just fine. huarache, air max 1/90/95, adidas originals and others are just fine with me. they can have KD/kobe/LBJs altogether
watch it, we don't take kindly to state team dissing round these parts, even LeBron is a Cowboy's fan with a cowboy's inspired shoe, TX stand upI said I'd wear Monarchs over Adidas and I would. If you were to offer me a pair of 350 boosts and a pair of Monarchs and I HAD to wear one it would be the Monarchs. If I could do what I wanted with with them, I'd sell the 350s and buy some Kobes. I just don't like any shoes that aren't Nikes... I think its no more ridiculous than people that will blindly defend the same team year after year. Dudes will love the cowboys or yankees across decades no matter how many players come and go. Loyal to a brand.
I don't give a damn about any team, any where. I'm just saying I only wear Nikes because they're the only shoes I like, no other company makes a shoe that appeals to me enough to pay for. Period.View media item 1264997

you gotta have something besides nike's in your closet.....you wear dress shoeswatch it, we don't take kindly to state team dissing round these parts, even LeBron is a Cowboy's fan with a cowboy's inspired shoe, TX stand upI don't give a damn about any team, any where. Absolutely not. The only thing I own that isn't made by nike are pair of Timbs I beat into the gound last winter at FedEx. Haven't owned a pair of dress shoes in 3 over years

*edit* now that I think about it they weren't even dress shoes, it was the leather waffle racers and I was able to pass em off as "dress" shoes.

it's about comfort, i wear what's comfortable and asthetically apealing to myself, if it wasn't for my military dress uniform i would not own a pair of dress shoes, they're not comfy, nor or suits IMHO, i would also not seek out jobs where i would have to wear that type of clothing and outfits, idc what anyone says if i put a suit on i'm wearing tennis shoes bcuz i want to be comfortable, i'll be 60 and still believe in being comfy which will mean no dress shoes than eitherwell...to each his ownI said I'd wear Monarchs over Adidas and I would.
