The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

U do realize that was like 10 15 ago, the RL nickname thing

Dana said cowboy trying to step in for thatch against Silva dude is straight savage lol

I didn't know it was 15 years ago but I knew it was way back my guess was 5 years honestly. That's why i said Slowly turning into WWF.

Evan the beard guy from fighter and kid podcast who is always around at these backstage altercations (guidance Nate too) gave his POV on the Cruz Cody run in on the latest ep. Starts at 49:45 mark

Conor vs Nick would literally be the same fight.

No, it wouldn't. Nick and Nate are very different fighters with Nick being the more aggressive walk forward fighter historically.

He would also be a lot bigger than Conor, considering he has fought at 185 before which Nate wouldn't be able to do.

Yup, Nick's boxing is more crisp, and his shots are a little heavier. Conor don't want that fight. Nick would really put it on Conor in the middle rounds where his propensity for gassing out is exposed.

It would probably be at 170, Conor doesn't have the frame for 185 and last that long. Conor has nothing to gain or prove and it wouldn't be a super fight. It also wouldnt be a smart move for him. I say he goes down to 145 slowly and heal his foot 100 percent. defend his title against aldo and let nick go down to 155 and take the title. Have a superfight at 155. conor goes for greatness with a potential 2 division belt holder and it will be the end to the trilogy.

I don't know what qualifies as a "super fight" but Conor vs. Nick would definitely be a big ******* fight.

Talking about a legit MW vs a LW... it's just not a fair fight lol, but Conor said he would kill Nate's whole team. So let's get it then

I read yesterday that bellator offered cowboy that HUGE contract, he's got to take that. I don't think he's close to a belt anyway. Might as well make his paper while he can

Too bad he's at ww now. He beat alvarez before, he could do it again if alvarez doesn't hug him the whole fight.

It'll be interesting to see what his last fight on his contract is

They could easily put him in with Alvarez, assuming they extend him before the fight. I know they say they don't want him at 155, but imagine he beats Alvarez and then Conor comes and challenges. Fireworks.. hell Nate will be in the picture as well

Alvarez is a horrible matchup for Conor

I will say this, Alvarez is back at home training, he's a completely different fighter than he was when he fought Cowboy the first time around. As is Cowboy with Brandon Gibson

I'd like to see a Cowboy/Alvarez fight. I felt Alvarez won the first round but leg kicks and Cowboys usually slow acceleration quickly turned the tides and got him the decision. He also didn't look great against Pettis.

I feel like he could grapple duck Conor but that's about it. And Conor should stay out that LW shark tank. Will Brooks, Nate, Khabib, RDA, Alvarez, etc would all be tough matchups for the Notorious one.

I also want to see th JBJ/Rumble super fight. DC is so boring (except the Gustafson fight). At least we know we could get an exciting display of fireworks or a MMA clinic with JBJ/Rumble.

DC is a safe fighter. Smart but fans don't like that. Case in point the Silva fight.

Next few fights I wanna see for Conor

Aldo @ 145
Winner of Alvarez/Cowboy @ 155
Nate @ 155

As he's getting older I feel like he could definitely fill out. I wouldn't be surprised if he had more fights at mw when he returns

Point being he's way bigger than Conor

Don't give a **** who he fights. Would like to see him back. He can make some good coin in the current climate.

And as we are now halfway to the weekend, hope we see great bounce back fights from Condit and Pettis.

Pettis is going to go through hell to constantly make 145. I mean, once or twice, you get wins, you feel good, sure. But to have to make that cut for an extended period of time seems very difficult

At this point, he didn't have much choice, he looks horrible right now

I've been picking Oliveria although I am rooting for Pettis
