Yeah I mean imagine the matchups you could get at the olympic level...cross promotional fights, you even get guys on the same roster who haven’t been able to cross paths yet all competing for a medal....

I’m pretty sure this is why USADA was brought in, to help legitimize the sport and hold the athletes to the same olympic level standard.

the biggest hurdle right now is the 10 point scoring system, once a new system gets created and implemented specifically for MMA I think we start to get even more traction.

We’re assuming the very best fighters will agree to participate. That’s a huge assumption that I highly doubt would be a reality

I’m not all that interested in having guys get beat up and then have to fight a week later. No full camp to prepare for the next opponent. No. Not going to prove anything. Not going to prove it’s better than a ufc belt by any means

Outside of maybe Yan, there is no ufc champ who didn’t 100% prove he’s the best in the world

Not all sports need to be in the Olympics. Futbol for instance, the World Cup is much more valuable than Olympics. Basketball for instance, the nba championship is much more valuable than the Olympics

Khabib beating the same guys he already did in the Olympics (dustin, conor, Justin) would somehow prove something? Lol

Really the only guy he hasn’t beat is tony. You dont need the Olympics for that

Kayla Harrison and maybe Douglas Lima are the only non ufc fighters who potentially are the best. Maybe DJ

Sentimental value can’t be debated, it’s up to each individual to find that value. Like Kobe and others who have participated

But in competitive terms, unless the Olympics somehow got every fighter in each division to compete you’re not going to get a winner who proved more than a ufc belt would

Yeah at best you'll get Contender series type fighters in MMA olympics. Theyll make somewhere under 40k IF they medal. No legit contender would go thru a tournament style competition for less money.
