The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Wonderboy?

Crazy we didn’t see Zabit, LI, Diaz or Jacked Ryan Hall.

Even though Dana said they broke all their records this year...the lack of gates definitely hurt their bottom line so it’s not surprising folks are getting cut.

And it’s a tough time with the lock downs, how many companies are really going to book or hire?

Anik just said that in the fighter meetings tony was being testy and upset with supposed treatment by anik

They’ve always been close. This continues to point to the fact that tony is heading down a specific path

Watched the main event and prelims last night. What a card all the way to the end. I definitely had the fight for Deiveson, think they should still run it back though if Moreno is able to make a quick recovery (not sure about his arm).

Also good to see Cub get a KO W. I know he likely struggles with any of the top 5 but you could still give him some fun fights like potentially Aldo rematch.

That Holland KO was nasty, don't think I've ever seen that hard of a blow on the ground in that manner.

The Fiziev K.O. was also pretty slick and his striking looked real sharp. I saw he had that TKO loss to Magomed last year but he's a solid prospect and look forward to seeing him back in the octagon.

Nemkov got bodies to drop. 👀

That fight was so crazy.

Who is your fighter of the year? I gotta give it to Holland. 5-0 is crazy in 5-6 months.

Holloway did his first official interview since his loss. I’ve never heard him be so pointed in terms of how he was saying everyone said he won. Fighters, coaches, managers and analysts

Bro, robberies happen all the time. Ask Figgy.

Shogun beat Machida the first time they fought. Hendrix handed GSP his third L. Jon Jones lost to Santos and Reyes. We could go on for days.

He just gotta come back and parlay. Beat kalvin then maybe a Zombie, Zabit, etc. He’s back in the discussion.

He’s very calm about it he only cares about what his peers think so when they said he won it was good for him

He also said he’s still open to 155 and 170

He’d have to bulk up. That battle with Diamond was a savage beat down and you could see the difference in power. I just think 155 and 170 is dominated by some very good wrestlers. Max hasn’t really had to contend with that heavy. I’m actually glad he never fought Khabib. It would’ve been lopsided.

UFC dropped the ball with not forcing Romero to 205. RIP to Machida, Phil Davis, Manhoef, and the other soon to be casualties in Bellator LHW.

Oliveira should definitely fight the winner of Dustin/Mcgregor for the vacant. Dudes been on a tear with finishes.

Gaethje/Chandler vs Hooker/RDA for number 1 contender.

I'm assuming the rankings haven't been updated to reflect this past Saturday's results yet.

That said we all know how wonky the UFC rankings have been since they were introduced. I mean Conor hasn't beat a legitimate opponent since Alvarez back in 16' which was also his last LW win...

Welp, shout out to Olivera for serving me some humble pie Saturday.....it was not bitter at all lol

He looks like a legit contender, so many match ups at 55, GEEZ.

I’m coming around on Holland, he just seems like he get it, inside and outside of the octagon. I LOVED how in his post fight interview joe said he had “never seen anything like this” and almost instantly Kevin refers to Niko Price’s hammer fist on randy brown....just shows how much of a fan and student he is, love it. I’m on the train.

Moreno showing that mexican blood in there, wow no matter how high fig was willing to turn it up, moreno was willing to match him ALL NIGHT.

if the fight was 5 more rounds I would have favored Moreno.

what a card.

Can’t believe Dana traded Mighty Mouse for Ben Askren
This doesn’t hold up at all and was a major win for the ufc

1. Dj probably wasn’t going to stay anyway
2. Dj said he never wants to cut to 125 again, in ONE he fights at 134 lbs
3. Getting Ben askren skyrocketed Jorge turned him into a star and gave Dana a few huge money fights which he never would have got with Dj

I just think Mighty Mouse would be a greater addition to the roster at 125 or 135 than a simple KO from Askren.

Askren had what 3 fights? A questionable stoppage, getting record KO’d, and getting subbed by an old *** Demian Maia before retiring.

I would have rather seen what Mighty Mouse could have done in the UFC over the last 3 fights in a stacked division.

While I do agree him getting KO’d did raise the profile of Jorge which resulted in a fake BMF belt and a championship title shot for him. I’d say Jorge equally benefited off Nate’s fame as Askren’s KO

Dj would get destroyed by any of those top 35ers

He just about lost his debut and already proved he couldn’t hang at 35 in the ufc
