The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Zabit/Zombie. Zabit/Kattar 2. Zabit/Holloway.

FW in a bad spot thanks to Holloway/Volkanowski. Zabit not fighting last year didn’t help. Emmet being hurt also was bad for the division.

I think he beat up Ortega worse tbh. Ive stated it before but my wife hasnt watched MMA since that beatdown haha no cap
That ended in the fourth. Ref stoppage.

I just think it’s been awhile since we’ve seen Max dominate like that.

I think Kalvin did more. Some of those shots were show stoppers. Kalvin isn’t a can.

Max’s cardio is insane. He also showed more variety in his striking.

And Conor has clearly showed up on the MAC Life, the Big John/Thompson podcast.

Ariel is still second fiddle to Screaming A and Max. Conor will probably show up there.

Oh god. Conor saying he wants to showcase his coaching side and do the ultimate fighter against anyone

Nate vs conor TUF incoming

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't ever remember Max slipping punches and feinting the way he was doing last night in his previous fights.
Remember pretty clearly the fight against Dustin he was getting hit a ton and wasn't really trying to get out the way.

So happy for the guy last night, seemed to enter another realm.

That was a bad choice on his part. He was too in love with his talent. He should’ve put on 5-10 pounds of muscle. Dustin was clearly bigger. And every punch that landed had a bit of heft to it. He did the Max thing as the fight went to later rounds. Bit was like bee stings versus hits by a hammer.

Max has admitted he stopped sparring. The striking he demonstrated yesterday. It truly is the blessed era and he let the commentators know. One of the narratives was Kattar’s boxing. Max has always been one of the better boxers in MMA (along with Dustin).

I need more angles of this immediately, it makes no sense.

After Max lands the no look right hand, it looks like Kattar's right hand literally goes thru Max's head, I have no clue how he evaded that,
Watched this sequence like 20 times bc I need to know lol. Looks likes he slipped all 4 of those punches but the camera angle makes it hard to see....can definitely see him slip the first and last. Highly doubt Kattar connected bc he was punching wildly. If he did connect...it wasn’t clean. But that no look right hand from Max that connected CLEAN was too sick.

So happy Max one. I am hoping Ortega beats Volk and then we get a Max vs Ortega 2 fight. That would be awesome.

Conor calling out the typical Dana lies when Ariel asked him why he shared the DM. He said Dana was making it appear he wasn’t trying to fight when he was.

I believe the opposite is happening right now with Khabib. Dana is just trying to save face that old boy hasn’t retired completely.

Boxing Rules: Max vs Conor @ 147lbs. Who y’all got? I’m leaning towards Max, more stamina, concrete chin and volume puncher.

What about Max vs Nate (assume his scar tissue would be decently under control) at flat 155?

But anyway: Max gets hit a lot but boxing range and stance is completely different from MMA. With that said Max also has insane output, for him to throw 700 punches or so is absolutely surreal

Florian asked listeners to just try to hit a bag 700 times and see how that goes lol. When I thought about it that way I was just even more blown away by Max's performance. Absolutely legendary considering Kattar is probably reaching his peak

If Conor couldn't knock Max out I'm assuming Max would have the advantage on points

I also don't think Conor would ever want to go below 150ish he said he already had to make a big adjustment to get used to cutting to 155

I listened to Conor tell Thomson/Mcarthy that his day of training was five rounds then 5000 meter row.

When I think of Max, I think he doesn’t spar. But if he did...he’d do two five round sessions then go run a half marathon.

That dudes output is insane. Besides Diamond, Diaz and old school JBJ who had decent gas tanks, Max is other worldly. It’s actually a testament of how good Alex is.

His TKOs are from sweetly overwhelming his opponent with an insurmountable and unending volume of blows.

Re: the Holloway/McGregor boxing match. Conor will never go down to that weight ever again unless the money is right. But Max would wear him out. But like the Mayweather fight...Conor has that left hand. I dunno. I feel like it would be almost like watching Tyson Fury in there. Just styling on fools.

That 700 is absolutely insane, and he could of kept going
