Khabib isn't lying. Replace female with any country that doesn't give a **** about MMA and everyone would accept it.
e.g. "We not going to have a Fiji division because there are not many elite fighters from Fiji" - just the truth.

Women are capable of being elite fighters, but the game is still 10-20 years behind. The fact Nunes is an undisputable GOAT and put on THAT performance says a lot.

I think generally fans know the truth of women's mma, aint no secret

But when you have a forum like Khabib and the spotlight of Khabib, for him to put it in those terms... guess it's more of a question of "was that really necessary?" rather than "was he telling the truth?"

But it's Khabib. You always have to take the source into question. This isn't anything off brand for him, he generally says exactly what is on his mind and doesn't sugar coast much. I wouldn't have expected anything different here.

Was it necessary? No. But it isn't shocking knowing Khabib's personality.

You're right, I think the language barrier also has to be taken into account. I bilingual and my parents' English is about the same level as Khabib's, and I noticed whenever they speak English it's a very literal form of English.
It lacks any context and cues that comes naturally as an English speaker and can be easily interpreted as something more offensive than it was intended
