The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

If he wins, they'll pay him. It doesn't make sense not to keep him.

It's no different when Stipe had an issue with his pay, especially when he fought Overeem. Just pay Francis a Mill a fight and give him PPV points.

Not to say that's "right." But at least he's compensated well based on other fighters not named Conor.

He's too old to box now. He might be able to get 1-2 bags. I mean typing that out...that's probably the best thing. Go do the boxing and then come back.

I guess y'all have way more faith in Dana than I do. I mean I'm just saying I wouldn't be surprised either way. If Dana paid him or didn't. And if Dana doesn't pay him it's because of who manages Francis

i want jones noo where near that title shot, what has he done to deserve it?
I think they would just cuz they dont want jones losing a different HW and then the fight is ruined and losing all the potential money they could have made

That's why I said he can also wait out the year and chase the boxing bag. The bubble will burst for him after two fights but he'll make millions. His name will get bigger like Woodley's. He can go back to MMA afterward for a few years then retire a millionaire and do something else especially if he invests his money right.

TJ and Conor both got title shots in different divisions by not fighting a single time in the new division

Jones actually vacated his belt (which neither TJ nor Conor did) solely to move up to HW. Him getting an instant title shot is perfectly reasonable and justifiable based on past history and his own resume

Are there rules to dis ish?

If Izzy, Conor, TJ, Max, and DC all got title shots in other weight classes, then I don't see an issue with it. You're right, he's got an amazing resume. He's also beaten a former HW champion lol twice.

Damb I forgot about Izzy already lol

They just threw it on a platter for him. I mean, in their defense, there really wasn't a real #1 title contender.

I'm thinking that size he's putting on might be a play to eventually move up again.

Yo this ref was bad. Bruh got knocked out 4 times and isn’t even defending himself.

If Francis gets an impressive finish then Jones vs Francis is a no brainer. It could be one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history, you can't lose money on that one.

Also it may be a last hurrah for Jones, and with the way Francis was talking earlier this week it might be one of his last fights too.

Dana hates Jones and Francis, so he'll at least make a ton of money off both of them while he watches one of them take an L and probably walk off into the sunset.

Jones didn't necessarily earn a title shot at heavyweight but he's technically undefeated and all the math makes sense.

Plus I just want to see him fight someone who has a good shot of laying him out so there's that too

A 4 fight fighter late on the pre-lims... This guy had no business being in the cage with this guy.

Yeah, don't get me wrong it was an impressive win but when the opponent is completely outmatched and inexperienced professionally like that it kind of takes the air out of it

Still crazy how Moreno got cut by the UFC

Like I said, I wanna see him fight these other contenders. He has a draw with Askarov and a loss to Pantoja

Pretty much. There were dudes in the TUF house with better records than that kid.

And we all know when you get on the mic and call for the 50 g's, you for sure ain't getting it.
