Point being, when you are vying for a title shot and have an opportunity to finish an opponent that recently fought for and interim title, you finish him. You definitely don’t take your foot off the gas and coast to a decision when you are 1 good punch from a finish.

Sucks he’s coming off of a loss while Topuria is coming off of a win. Definitely think Volk should fight one of them young guns before chasing a rematch with Islam.

Watching that performance and then focusing so much on the fact that there wasn't a finish... plus saying Max would easily handle Topuria... that don't add up at all
Max is slowing down. yes he beat Arnold but it wasn't the Max we've seen. On top of that, his defense has always been lacking and has never improved
Where as Topuria has improved his defense quite a bit and is becoming much more patient with his boxing

While I can’t stand Dana White, he has made the same criticism in the past when fighters are easily winning and take their foot off the gas.

Because Topuria doesn’t really deserve the shot off of Emmett. Neither Emmett nor Yair should have been fighting for the interim honestly. Hard to make the case that the guy Yair finished with relative ease is the litmus test for the title shot.
Max is in the roughest spot here. Robbed in the Volk rematch then soundly defeated in the trilogy. Yet Max is still better than everybody other than Volk. Every other surging prospect that fought Max got beaten to a pulp.
Genuinely wonder if Max will leave the UFC if Volk doesn’t move up. There are a lot of fun matchups outside the UFC for Max and he could cash out and retire as a champ elsewhere.

Max clearly doesn't. Even if he beats Zombie. He should really never get another title shot so long as Volk is champ

When Volk beats Yair he should permanently move up to 155 if he continues to argue for a rematch with Islam. Double champ fights are as detrimental to the divisions as instant rematches for champions are a cancer.

Yair had a lucky route to his interim belt. Destroyed by Holloway, Ortega gets injured first round giving Yair a rebound win for nothing, then fights Emmett after Kattar was robbed in their fight.
If those are your only options, let Volk dog walk Topuria if he isn’t moving up to 155.

Topuria is a star in the making. He should most definitely get a title shot next. Fight could've been stopped in the 4th and in between rounds.
