I just seen that Imanov trains at MMA Factory. Is that true? Ikram would have ran through ole boy then

Different weight classes brodie and Garry don't need to be rushing into any fights right now. He's got the inside track to fight who he wants on his time en route to the title

The one thing Volk has going is that he's a true athlete. He stays in shape year round and his injury wasn't something that would keep him from training.
I'm sure him and his team wouldn't have taken the fight if they thought he was coming in at a real disadvantage. Even though there's a huge difference in fighting Charles and Alex, its still a tougher task for Alex.
I just hope they don't end up making a Topuria/Holloway interim for January. My guy deserves to fight for the undisputed. Maybe they throw O’Malley a bunch of bread to headline Toronto against Chito.

There is zero doubt in my mind that volk is the one athlete who stays ready
I just don’t want to hear the mma community say “oh well volk had a week to prepare” if he loses. Half or more of them barely gave Islam credit the first time for beating him
I 100% believe volk has much less to lose and much more to gain in this. But that’s the fight game- Islam and khabib both said they’d fight anybody it doesn’t matter
Topuria is most likely going to get an interim shot against max or the winner of allen/movsar in January

I told a friend that was the fight to make once the Costa rumors started bubbling up. Just do it at 185.
I, personally, think Islam/Volk is a marquee matchup that deserves more than a week setup. They both are great athletes and have great camps. Not to say Volk hasn't been training and rehabbing from his injury but c'mon.

Usman actually wants to move up and izzy is no longer champ. Plus usman will never sniff another title shot at 170
Belal still has a chance to be champ at 170 and isn’t going to stay at 185 if he fought chimaev there anyway

If Usman beat Khamzat, he could go 170 or 185. So could Belal since he wants to challenge for the WW title and doesn't mind slipping in to fight Strickland.

Yes sir that’s probably what it was- chimaev has fought at 170 recently in the ufc. He has fought however at 185 a number of times in his mma career including in the ufc
Chimaev staying at 170 would have made that division in freaking sane

Sign me up for Usman-Chimaev, low risk/high reward fight for Usman and if he even makes the fight competitive there are lots of good future matchups for him at MW.

It is a huge risk for usman but you have to figure- he’s about to retire. He’s coming off two losses
There’s no other way he’d get this opportunity to get fast tracked to the title
You have a storyline there with usman avenging izzy and he’s beat Strickland before at 170
Even if he loses its like- oh well, he isn’t trying to take a long road back to a title shot. Then he’d simply hang it up
