If Weidman beats jacare, rockhold, romero....#1 p4p without a doubt
That's what I said. No one is hating. He beat Anderson Silva twice. But his resume is still a little thin. Dude only has three title defenses. It's too early. Is he legit, yeah.

JBJ is without a doubt the P4P. He out wrestled Daniel Cormier. And besides the Gustafson fight (which you can sort of read between the lines that he didn't take seriously), he dominated everyone in the LHW division.

If aldo washes mcgoat a few times and Frankie he'll be tough to top

Jones beating dc and rumble would also keep him as my #1

I don't really like to do p4p

P4P list always seem to me like "most dominant fighter, favoritism given to lighter weight classes"

They are sorta pointless IMO

I see p4p has just another name for the most skilled, complete fighters.

That's why JBJ, Weidman, and aldo are all top 3. All very complete and dominant

But would you say Weidman has been dominant/cleaning up his division?

Aldo, up until Connor, has pretty much washed the top contenders. He's definitely the #2 P4P.

But for me, IMO, JBJ has conquered a who's who Shogun, Rashad, Rampage, Chael, Glover, D.C., Gustafson, Vitor and Machida. If the idiot didn't have his demons, he would have beaten Anthony Johnson and we would've gotten the LHW rematch we wanted.

The only other fighter that has been at that level recently was GSP.

Weidman hasn't been no where near as dominant as Aldo and Bones doe

Is Weidman in the top 3, maybe yes.

In the same class as Aldo and Bones right now, no

Would be interesting to see how Weidman dealt with a 6.5 inch reach disadvantage

Weidman tends to get hit in the face.. Bones would certainly tag him

Still, Weidman would find a way to make it a competitive match IMO (grit, chin, boxing, wrestling, cardio)

How effective is that boxing gonna be if he can't close the distance on Bones

And we not even talking about jumping in and trying to land a shot

To constantly with striking distance on Bones to land a high volume

Brah, to me, that's borderline impossible for Chris to pull off.

I think Jones would beat Weidman. A closer fight might be between Weidman and DC.
Hell of a fight too

He'd get in the pocket and risk his chin. Weidman gives no dambs about mixing it up and getting dirty. But yeah that's what I was saying with the reach initially

Like Bones won't punish him severely for that.

And Chris seems to have a good chin but it hasn't been tested enough for us to know it can survive catching multiple hard shots over 5 rounds.

Because IMO, no way Chris shows Bones his chin and doesn't get punished for it at least a couple times

Plus I highly doubt Chris could get into range constantly. Best shot he got is trying to catch Bones in a sub

-Lemme see Chris clear out his division first doe, before i give him a chance against bones

Weidman would surely eat some elbows and shots from Jones as he tries to get in the pocket. It would kinda be like his fight with Belfort. Belfort was hitting him with some shots thats when Weidman decided he had enough and went for the takedown. With Jones idk if he'd be able to get the takedown though. But if he did get him down, I might give Weidman a slight advantage on the ground. His bjj is slick.

Prime Bones would whip his ***. He'd have to fight the fight of his life to win that one, I definitely don't see it happening.

Gus gave him a war, not sure why that wouldn't be possible again. Not buying the "Bones overlooked him" line either. Gus reach is identical to Weidman's, Weidman is much more complete than Gus

Bones has TKO'd folks and submitted them but he's admitted to not having power in his hands.

Doesn't Weidman have bad knees? Jones with them dirty knee kicks lol. I'm sorry, JBJ would destroy Weidman in wrestling (Jones style on an Olympian), the reach advantage would be ridiculous, Jones (besides the Gustafson fight) comes in ready for five rounds. Weidman obviously had knockout power but I just can't see it with Jones.

And on the Gustafson tip. Jones was looking past him fight week. It's not far fetched to say maybe he didn't have the best camp going into it. We know he parties hard. With D.C., there was obviously the bad blood and he had something to prove. Having said that, Jones still won the first fight with Gustafson. Nothing controversial unlike Frankie Edgar, Bendo or Hendricks fights (lol).

And Gus has never won in big fights. Took an L to Phil Davis. Took an L to JBJ. And took the major L to Anthony Johnson. If D.C. Wins, dude should never go near the title again.

I guess yall only see Bones losing to a HW then

No hate on that opinion, it's reasonable. Just don't think Weidman goes down that easily. Weidman could probably beat Rockhold, Souza and that wouldn't really prove anything in terms of his prospects against Jones. So looks like we're stuck unless they ever meet

I dunno. Rockhold looked good in his last fight. Besides TRTVitor derailing Bisping/Rockhold, Rockhold and Souza are legitimate challengers to the MW title.

Like I said, if Chris wins, I'll give him all the props in the world. He's definitely going through a murderers row. MW is a very solid division.

And he's the one who said he'd move up to challenge JBJ.

At the moment, JBJ has to conquer his demons and make his way back to the UFC. To be honest, not really looking forward to a DC/JBJ 2.

And honestly, besides the power at HW and flash KOs, none of them are in JBJs league.

And believe me, I despise JBJ as a person but he's probably the best MMA talent since GSP (no offense to Anderson).

Weidman beat the goat twice and it had nothing to do with what actually took place in the cage. He is mentally strong and his belief in himself is a big factor.

He was gonna call out jones before the whole situation happened. IMO that's waaaaaay more of an intangible than anything u guys are discussing, reach, size, etc

This super fight between Weidman and Jones may never happen lol . I honestly think Rockhold is going to give Weidman some problems when they fight and possibly take that belt ...
