The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

^I think if you put anybody in front of a microphone to speak on enough subjects, they'll eventually say something that'll piss people off, especially in this day and age. I wouldn't fault anybody for that.

Having said that, like I said before, too often when I hear her speaking on topics it just comes off as clown **** to me. She's in my top 5 in the game in that category right now.

Its not just Rousey, its a UFC thing to go at Mayweather cause it gains them attention. Just this morning I saw something on MMAFighting where McGregor is talking about wanting to fight Mayweather.

Yes that's the point I was making. It's a compliment to Floyd and shows that UFC is still in chase mode

After Floyd leaves though I wonder who the UFC will go after in boxing

^That's also pretty lame and makes mma fighters look like they have an inferiority complex. They always have his name in their mouth and he doesn't give two ***** about what they're doing. MMA is dope, boxing is too, they're separate sports with separate skillsets. Calling boxers out on fights that'll never happen is the same thing as Ronda talking about how she can beat Cain. Empty words, and it just looks corny.

that 15 minutes is gonna be up soon when the run out of tomato cans for her, I've never watch shorty fight and don't plan to I just don't see what the hype is about.

I agree, very petty and makes them look thirsty. At the same time I can't blame Ronda or Conor for doing it, again, that's more headlines for them.. more press... it is what it is gotta recognize what they doin

I'm not a huge fan of Mayweather but he summed up everything perfectly when he said "I'm in the $100 million business, not the $100,000 business" and that he shouldn't even be stooping to their level and talking about it because it makes no sense.

Yeah he has no reason to respond at all. Let the birds keep chirpin, no need to give them free dollars

I would love to see Floyd get trolled to the point that he actually sets up some sort of hybrid match with Conor though

Most of America would be wondering why he's fighting a leprachaun that talks so much ish. Spilt would probably be 99.9 and 0.1.

*Josh Thomson not re-signed by the UFC, close to a deal with Bellator

*Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo

Conor McGregor           -190     (10/19)

Jose Aldo                     +155     (31/20)

*The bantamweight contender will undergo surgery on his right ankle this Thursday in Atlanta, his manager Danny Rubenstein informed MMAFighting.com. Assuncao injuredthe same ankle back in December but was told he did not need surgery. However, he was recently forced to go back in a boot after he was informed he rushed back to training too soon and the ankle didn't properly heal. After several weeks in a boot, he was then informed by doctors that he would require surgery after all.

If he loses to someone at 155 that kind of kills his title shot.

If he gets beat at 170, not so much.
True. If he loses at 170 I still feel like the title shot loses a bit of steam

The available guys at 155 are way too risky anyway: Pettis and Khabib

At 170 there aren't exactly easy opponents either though... Even a Maia or Gunnar is going to be a hell of a scrap

Not surprised at all about Thomson and Bellator. Zinkin is gonna send a lot of his guys (Thomson, Koscheck, Pico) to Bellator cause him and Dana have a beef going back to when UFC was threatening to drop all the AKA guys over the UFC game.

Sucks for Assuncao. Now everything depends on Cruz getting and staying healthy.

Welp

Part of Anderson Silva's defense in a steroid case with the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) will be that his use of "sexual performance" medication tainted his drug test result.

Silva will go before the NAC for a disciplinary hearing Thursday following multiple failed tests -- in and out of competition -- for performance-enhancing drugs in January. The former UFC middleweight champion is denying he knowingly took any kind of steroids, but part of his defense will be that sexual performance medication and another supplement contaminated the test results, according to a complaint obtained Tuesday by MMAFighting.com.

That issue has nothing to do with it that was legit 8 years ago. Thomson on a 3 fight losing streak and kos at 4 They have many of zinkins guys fighting for them

That anderson excuse. Wish sonnen was still around to make jokes about that. thomson's career has taken a nosedive ever since he kicked nate's skull.

Then how in the world could you possibly have any sort of opinion on her :lol

Not sure how I feel with McGregor being the favorite. And I love him. I'm a big believer in once you're king, you should always be favorite. No matter what. You're the champ for a reason.

The Aldo drug testing news is kind of disheartening as well since I'm a fan of him

There's an issue between Dana and Bob Cook. Its been noted numerous times. Recently Zinkinmma has been steering some of their guys towards Bellator. It wasn't only Kos and Thomson but Phil Davis and two top prospects in Aaron Pico and Ed Ruth who many have been saying are the future of the sport, "phenoms", and "the future kings of fighting". Yes Zinkin has fighters in UFC but if they were free agents, guarantee they would try to steer them away from UFC.
