THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || 3-5 Next Game 11/10 vs. Eagles

"@fishsports: .@DeMarcusWare was upset abt Jerry public $ comment. Jones apology accepted, Ware so touched turned down visits to #cowboys NFC East rivals"

Ware will always be that dude.

:hat I know I would've been hurt seeing him play for another nfceast team. I was dreading the possibility.
Not mad he landed in Denver, hope he gets a ring. Unless we make the SB somehow.

Get ready for a long dark road, cap issues next year too. This is going to be a bad football team I'm accepting it now

Will be rooting for DeMarcus in Denver.

Knowing how things have gone for the Cowboys the last few years, I fully expect him to put up 15 - 20 sacks this season and be in the running for DPOY. :lol :{

Yep. I really don't think he wanted to leave. I wouldn't have taken a pay cut either.

I really think Hatcher will be just ok in Washington. The 4-3 clearly helped him as a player. Don't know why he'd go to a 3-4.

It's gonna take a couple of years to get our cap situation handled, hopefully by then SF and SEA will no longer be the NFC juggernauts until then.....

How much would Steve Smith cost us for a 1-year deal? could add needed toughness. 8o

As it stands right now, the team only has 4 players that'll get decent playing time who'll be 30 by seasons end, clearly, there's a youth movement, which is the right direction. This team will be buns next season, singing a 35 year old Steve Smith makes zero sense for this team.

I don't know. we're projected to be at about 110 mil with all or players next year. And it still counts Miles Austin, Kyle Orton (retirement?). And this is even with the new guys Mincey, Mcclain. All though this isn't counting the rookie coming in. You gotta figure Tyron, Dez, Byrant get new deals. Carr, Romo for restructures. With a sub 20 mil cushion I think thats enough to sign our guys +plus free agents+ 2015 rookies. It's not a good thing to have tons of cap like the Jags, Raiders you know.

I came to this realization and accepted it with around 3 minutes left in the Packers game. At the point, I'll just watch next season to see Dez/Twill/Romo beast and watch the Oline. The team needs a LB, at least two Dlineman, a safety, a guard, and very possibly, two corners :{ :{ :{ :{ :{ :{, although for reasons I don't even know, I think Mo will be a beast this season.

Long way to go fellas. I just hope Dez and Tyron aren't 30 by the time this team is ready to compete.

Good stuff with that cap info GMS. Still a lot of holes to fill.

I am all for the youth movement. I asked what his price would be instead of just saying, "sign him up" cause unless we can get him on the very cheap, like, close to vet minimum then I agree with you. He still plays at a high level and bring some fire(I know, Dez brings enough) and vet presence.

I used to think a Guard was necessary. But Tyron, Frederick, Free, and Bernadeau are really good, that even a slightly less than average Guard won't get exposed.

Need to run the right coverages for Carr & Mo. Also, Scandrick really improved, he just has to get a hold of his bonehead mistakes that happen once a game. Also getting pressure on the Quarterback is what matters most in their effectiveness, if we can get pressure, they'll be fine.

That's where the problem is. That Front 7. Every single resource needs to go into changing that Front 7 around. Lee being the 1 definite that we can rely on.

I think maybe going after Jared Allen, who Bill Polian is predicting he'll get around $6mil, 2 years or fewer in guaranteed dollars. He can still rush the passer, very well. Or maybe Peppers (knows Marinelli's system) who could go for even less, maybe what John Abraham got from the Cards 2 year $4.65million (going off of Blogging The Boys suggestions). Then draft Jernigan who Kiper and McShay both have going to us. Or Donald if he slips.

Then draft a LB who can really get to the passer somewhere in round 2-4. Everything else is Best Player & Adding Depth on Defense for the Draft.

We certainly won't be a great defense, but we have to get it around league average. If we can do that, I think our offense can do it's job.

Dez and Tron are the only bright spots right now, two beasts

I just think we should load up on offense because there is no way this defense will be any good, personally I think we have the worst defense in the league right now, thats opinion but we do have the worst DL in football, that may be a fact lol

Fact!!!

I think Fred could be a top 5 center in this league

If they could get Melton and Spencer for cheap and I mean real cheap I would take a shot no way they can lose the whole line to injuries again! Right? plus at least one or two in the draft and all the sudden this d is middle of the pack add a few pieces on o and this team looks pretty good mediocre d great o

At least that's my pipe dream

they probably aren't signing either player

I don't know what their plan is but I think their plan sucks right now

hopefully they prove me wrong

I'm not going to hold my breath. Looks as though they want to be young but haven't realized young/cheap doesn't equall good players who are hungry every time

Jared Allen visiting the Cowboys tomorrow; Melton today.

If we sign both, relatively cheap, I'm feeling pretty good about our line going into the draft.

Even if it's just Allen, that's huge.

We need veteran leadership on defense and he's always been a great locker room guy

Saying he's a camp body, while Romo's recovering/ competition for backup spot. Putting too much faith in JG working with quaterbacks. :{
Backup qb is a need but we need someone young. That way if JG gets fired, he can start until the new coach gets "his guy", like new coaches always do.

And if it happens to work out, then we have a qb.
