THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || 3-5 Next Game 11/10 vs. Eagles

The only time I ever was fed up with Dez was the the Giants game in Dallas last season. I was highly emotional that game

But by the fourth quarter I'd have forgiven Dez

I really think that TD being taken away from him was the turning point of his career. I was mad at the time, but now I'm glad that it was taken from him.
really what he do in the Giants game? because if its that pick, even if he ran the route in Romo left him out to dry and it was a pretty poor decision to throw the ball there

dude gets a his hand in and thats one of the most memorable/clutch TDs in Cowboys history

from what I remember, most of the hate came from that Bears game

to be honest, we don't target him enough or take enough shots down the field

just throw it up and let him go get it, he's either catching it or getting the PI

thats one thing the Giants do really well (not many other things this year) but Eli gives his receivers a chance down the field and they generate a lot of PIs

The fumble, the pick etc. I was the sole Cowboys fan in a room full of 20+ ******** and Giants fans. Like I said, emotional :lol

actually I forgot about the fumble

I don't watch Cowboys games with anyone else, I used to but its too much drama I rather watch it myself and scream at the TV

the amount of troubling and terrible things I say during a football game are bad lol

Alan Ball and Gerald Sensabaugh man those two put me through a lot of swearing

What made it worse, I'd hyped up Dez something serious heading up to that game. Even called the catch the play before it happened. And when he made that catch... let's just say I've never been that loud, in your face, obnoxious in my life :lol Then I had to be quiet when they overturned it :{ I still hear about that. Still 3 of the most glorious minutes of my Cowboys fandom tho, the ENTIRE room was dead silent, well except for me :lol

I couldn't stand Alan Ball, but Ogletree might be my #1 hated Cowboy of all time. Dude would be a top 3 receiver in the league if he could play on NBC every night :{ :{ :{

He rarely get PI calls :{

I saw that. What's funny is alot of the the same dudes who called him a bust in that thread are now talking about how beastly he is. It really was never about his talent, dudes just didn't want to like him because he's a Cowboy. Some dudes still holding out hope like the Seahawks fan dude who craps on him every chance he gets.

Just how it is. |I

Is it the same fan who claims we are hyped up every year despite no analysts picking us to do damage for the past 3 years?

But you're exactly right. If Dez plays for any other team, this forum would have crowned him the second coming of Jerry Rice back in 2011.

My brother, who is a die hard 49ers fan, said something interesting back in 2011 when we played them and Romo won us the game with the punctured lung/broken rib. He said that if Romo played for any other team, dude would be worshipped. He went onto say "Imagine if Romo played in Cleveland. They would have already made a "We are witnesses" billboard for him" :lol

I think he's exaggerating a bit, but I understand where he's coming from. Romo's failures are so blown out of proportion and its because of who he plays for.

man that overturned catch was one of the biggest highs and lows in my life, wow I was jumping up and down throwing shhhhh then I saw the replay and went silent

amazing how sports can do that to you

Romo is an undrafted free agent QB. Started as a borderline 4th string QB. Ends up winning 60+ games in 8 years, throwing for 27000+ yards in a 100 games, which is a record and has over a 2-1 TD/INT ratio. Along with a top 7 all time QB rating and the best 4th quarter rating among active (all time? ) Qbs. 20 game winning drives in his career, throwing for 28 touchdowns and 4200 + yards every single year.

If Romo was on any other team he'd be viewed as one of the best feel good stories in NFL history. People would look at him as the go to example of working hard to make it. Him just starting for 8 years would be viewed as an amazing accomplishment. Any thing he does in addition to that would be viewed as icing on the cake of an amazing classic American story. Instead, he plays for Dallas and people treat him like he was the #1 overall pick of a loaded draft.

Fun fact, 11 Qbs were taken in the 03 draft over Romo

Carson Palmer

Bryan Leftwich

Kyle Boller

Rex Grossman

Dave Ragone

Chris Simms

Seneca Wallace

Brian St. Pierre

Drew Henson

Kliff Kingsbury

Ken Dorsey

Tony Romo - Undrafted

Even us Cowboys fans don't respect him enough, a legit argument could be made that Romo is the best QB to ever play for Dallas.

I love Romo, but the thing is you see how great the dude is and when he makes these brain farts its so depressing because deep down you KNOW he is BETTER than that

truly the guy is one of the best QBs I have ever seen play the game, good arm, amazing accuracy and lightning quick release

if he ever wins a Super Bowl I hope retires right there on the spot because that's the only thing he has left to accomplish

I think a lot it the comes from that seattle game when decided to place hold for the kicker :{ from that day on people have over criticized Romo

imagine that never happens, I still think he's highly criticized but just imagine that never happened and he goes on to win that game

There was a numbers never lie segment on that hypothetical case. Gave a plausible argument that Dallas could've won the Superbowl :lol

We were winning the Super Bowl that year.
That's what made Parcells bounce.
He had the team peaking at the right moment and we were primed to win the Bowl that year.
Romo blew it after playing a good game.

Eh, not really sure if we "peaked at the right time." The Saints exposed Romo that year collapsing the pocket around him, making him step into his throws. He was only good that year playing 'play ground' football. Sean Payton knew this and this is why the Saints stomped us 49-24? I even remember them showing mercy at the goaline, out of respect for Parcells and didn't drop a 50 burger on us. Our defense also got severely exposed by the deep ball. Roy Williams and the Dallas D was never the same for a good 3 years straight afterwords.

We never recovered from that game. We went on to lose two of the next 3 games. We beat Atlanta the week after 38-28 (this was when T.O. spit on hall and burned him for two TDs) but then we lost to Jeff Garcia and the Eagles on Christmas, and then lost to the LOWLY LIONS (there record was like 3-13) 38-31.

So Jay Ratliff was cleared to resume football activities by his doctor :{ Dude just didn't want to play for Dallas
