this is why Dallas will struggle to find a head coachI honesty don't ever see a "smart" coach like Cower or Dungy ever coach the cowboys. Why would anyone who is already established put up with an over controlling GM?
I still believe Parcells would of taken us to the next level with Romo. Although he wasted most of his energy trying to improve on Bledsoe
NO, No, and HELL NOJason Garrett is not a great coach.. But this team was much better with him calling the plays. Every year we have been top 10 in total offense.. I don't know WHAT Bill Callahan is doing with us ranked 19th. I don't care how many times you run the ball.. The strength of this team is airing the ball out.. They need to go back to letting Romo gun slinging.. And if JG is on the hot seat.. He should definitely go back to offensive play calling.. Makes more sense if he gets fired for doing it his way.
NO, No, and HELL NO
Why not? If our offense wasn't the problem under JG, why give the play calling duties to Bill Cal and continue to struggle..
That's the thing: our offense HAS been a problem under JG.
People seem to forget that this offense that Callahan is calling is STILL Jason Garrett's offense. He's just not calling the plays. The offense has been predictable since Ray Ray called us out and its still very predictable.
Our offensive woes are on Garrett. He's the only constant since 2007. And Romo...
No.. The problem hasn't been the offense.. That's the only thing this team has going for them. The defense has been terrible for the past couple of years giving up the big plays and NOT forcing turnovers. This year they are forcing turnovers but not stopping anyone. Any offense that finishes top ten the past few years isn't the problem. Everyone always like to say Romo isn't clutch and can't win big games.. But is tied for active QBs in 4th QTR comebacks. But EVERY GAME goes down to the wire with us. Because our defense can't make stops.. We cannot rely on our defense to win a game for us.. And that's why we'll continue to struggle. It is Jason Garret's team.. But he's not calling the plays and we are struggling on offense. We keep trying to force a run game that we don't have.
Stats don't tell the whole story man. The reason why we finish top 10 in "offense" is because its based on total yards. Most of our games we are playing catch up which skews our offensive ranking. Perfect example is our team being "top 2 in scoring." Take out the Denver game which was CLEARLY an anomaly, and we are top 20 in scoring.
No one is stating that the defense doesn't have their issues either. But it wasn't the defense that went 0/9 on third downs last week, The defense wasn't the reason Romo's completion percentage the last 4 weeks has tanked considerably from 71.6% down to 54%. The defense isn't the reason why we scored only 10 points against the Saints.
Garrett's system has been a problem for years besides 2007. That's not to say the defense doesn't obviously have issues but this is exactly the line of thinking that Jerry has and why every year we are having the same issues. Why is Dez NEVER in motion? Why did it take Romo making the adjustment ON HIS OWN and moved Beasley and Dez to the Y and slot positions and the net result was a 44 yard completion to Dez which was his ONLY catch in the game.
Our defense, btw, did make a very huge stop against the Lions which should have ended the game. But you can thank Garrett for us having to give the ball back to the Lions. And again, this is where Garrett gets to blame the defense all the time and has people fooled.
And believe me, anyone here will tell you I'm Romo's biggest supporter. His gaff's are severely overblown and his 4th quarter comebacks are never considered (20). But that doesn't absolve him, or the entire offense from criticism. Our defense may be trash, but again, it doesn't help when we can't convert on third downs. Most of our scoring drives were a result of ST or Defense putting us in enemy terrirtory.
Lets also keep this in mind: The defense had only FOUR starters on the field last week and have been plagued with injuries/depth issues all year. The offense is missing only ONE player. What's their excuse?
And in regards to the GMen, they still don't look very good but neither do we. THey are beating teams with backup/injured QBs. We've had 2 weeks to prepare for them. I think we win this one but its going to come down to us and Philly at the end of the year.
But to your point about us having to play a lot of games from behind last year which had to do with our offensive total yardage.. Why don't they come out running that kind of offense to get ahead so they don't have to worry about playing catch up?
NO, No, and HELL NO

The Giants have beaten Christian Ponder, Scott Tolzin, Terrell Pryor, and Matt Barkley wouldn't worry about them
It's Philly we should be worried about. Tried to tell cats on here they'd contend for the division. But everyone was so enamored with RGIII

Very good points, but you can take the Saints games from this season and compare to last season. One with JG calling the plays and one with BC calling the plays... Our offense was very good last year considering all of the offensive line struggles we had last year. And if Teams want to start double teaming Dez then maybe they should start drawing up plays for players like Cole Beasley and Dwayne Harris.. They have proven they are worthy of some plays.. Make the defense have to worry about EVERYONE on the field. That's what's so frustrating about this team.. They have the potential to like a New Orleans or a Denver Team offensively (or even Green Bay when healthy)...
