THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || 3-6 Next Game 11/18 vs. Texans Monday Night Football

We have a quarterback getting paid peanuts, our best lineman, running back, and our whole secondary on rookie contracts and have no cap space. :lol

When I saw that we still have Miles Austin on the books, I knew that we werent gonna do much in FA this year. And Romo's contract killed us lol...

Yep Miles "Hamstring" Austin lol and he was a WR coach so he got paid twice by the same team. That's just an example of the bad contract extensions/ restructuring the FO did in the past.

Miles had like one good season and got paid

Romo dead money. Just another reason he should've never lost his spot. :{

Next season they'll have a ton of cap tho 8o

We are “eyeing” Suh. Would be a really good fit for a couple years.

But eyeing means we know he exists and won’t do anything.

Frederick contract was restructured which is frees up $7.5m. So I expect a signing in the next few days, hopefully...

Apparently the Seahawks wanted a kings ransom for Earl Thomas so he's off the table for now, I really hope they work out something for him.

they want a 1st round pick LOL

I'd honestly give a long look at figuring out how to get Suh here. He's still extremely good, and has a couple of years left especially if he's on a line with DLaw and Irving. Suh still commands a lot of attention, as does DLaw now, so it should open up Irving to have a big season. And even should give our LB core in Jaylon & Lee a lot more ease to get up in the backfield

Could then cut Crawford as a post June 1st cut and save $6mil in cap.

Hitchens got 5 year / $45mil from the Chiefs.... :eek He's got a lot of versatility, but I don't think I would have even offered half that

No way we're gonna get any big or even medium names I mean look at some FAs we got past couple years:

Nolan Caroll
DaMontre Moore
Benson Mayowa

lol

I mean Scandrick was at best our 3rd best DB, at worst our like 5th. He wasn’t gonna start, was the right move.

I just dont understand how we didnt get Honey Badger. Obviously we're in the market for a safety, for 1yr/7m he was worth the risk.

Really hope we dont get stuck signing guys that will be cut/retired by week 4.

they were happy with the rookie contracts they had and didn't consider him a "scheme fit" apparently
