THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || MEH

Watched it when I got home last night. The last "tantrum" at the end was uncalled for and no matter how you twist it, it was bad on Dez's part, period.

Romo was trying to rally everyone to get back on the field and he gestures to Dez to "come on". I'm guessing Dez doesn't put his helmet on because Romo then violently yells "DEZ!!." Romo then just turns away with a "whatever" type of attitude and Witten takes his helmet off and goes after Dez. It looks like Witten is saying "Then go! Then go!" or "Then leave" something along those lines, I'll go back later tonight and watch it again. Witten then says "We need you" and points to the scoreboard, which I think he was pointing to the clock indicating to Dez 'Hey we still have time left.' Dez says something to Witten that causes him to say "Don't yell at me." This is when Ware intervenes. Dez wasn't saying a damn thing to Ware when he yoked him up :lol

With all that being said, Dez is right. We are too conservative. We was ommitted from the offense on that last play, which was what I think he was upset about because there's that shot I explained before. We play not to lose instead of playing to win. The defense generated 4 turnovers. I could care less how many yards they gave up. The offense never capitalized on any of those opportunities except for the one which Sean Lee damn near ran back the pick 6. And even that series came down to a third down houdini catch by Dez.

Yesterday was about 4 games of frustration for Dez boiling over.
We're 8 games in and four of the eight games Dez has been completely left out of the game plan.
Calvin Johnson was targeted 16 times.
Maybe our head coach doesn't understand how important EACH game is.
He obviously sees being .500 halfway through the season as a positive.
Why stockpile all these "offensive weapons" and not utilize them?
I'm having a hard time understanding the philosophy of our head coach.
Sadly I don't think he understands his philosophy either.

^^ :lol

And to think, Dez had to bark in order to get 6 targets.

Here's another thing which people don't realize that also had Dez heated:

The Cowboys have this tendency to "take what the defense is giving you" which is understandable. However, here's the problem. Defenses are basically diguising their coverages and forcing the Cowboys into doing what THEY want them to do rather than us imposing our will on a defense. One of the guys on Cowboys Talk radio actually broke it down in regards to yesterday. The type of coverage they were playing on Dez indicated cover 2, double coverage with where the corner was lined up. However, after the snap was made and through the play, the coverage ended up being single most of the time. The cowboys already commit that its double coverage, we are going a different route. This also ties in to Dez's frustration because he knew that he was actually getting single coverage some of the time. This is something that has been going on FOREVER.

The Lions know that we want to stop megatron and we are game planning for him. But guess what? The Lions still impose their WILL and throw the ball to Megatron.

The Cowboys know the Lions want to stop Dez. So we just assume "Ok well we will go *this route* instead of going to Dez."

Again, conservative ESPECIALLY on the road.

We shouldn't be drafting a RB in the 2nd round either. I know he looked good salting the game for the Packers last night put that was like a 3 or 4 possession lead. If they can't block or the play design sucks then we get the same outcome.

Why not? We needed a RB. I've been saying this since the draft, this thought didn't just come across my mind last night. Murray can't stay on the field, Tanner is just a special teams guy. That leaves you with Dunbar. The Cowboys knew they needed a RB which is why we drafted Randle.

The way the NFL is these days you should be drafting a RB every year. That said, you need to take one in the 2nd when you couldn't even block for him. 2014 they should be drafting another RB probably to replace Tanner, so you might get your Lacy type RB then.

Repped. That's exactly what the coaching staff does. So frustrating.

Brian Waters may be done for a while. First time he's gonna miss a game in his career.

Our o-line is about to be trash again...well hopefully not as bad as last years.

You dude are misdirecting your anger.

Yall's savior Monte Kiffin manned up Calvin Johnson most of the game and that's why he went off. He literally and figuratively fed Brandon Carr to the Lions.

Bro he was going off if there had been a tornado during the game and the roof was ripped off the stadium.
The NFL did their best WWE marketing attempt in several years.
Dez vs Megatron, and Garrett's scary a** left Dez in the cage and wouldn't let him out.
Detroit unleashed their beast from the opening bell.
I'm starting to think Garretts a lover not a fighter, because we lose all of our dog fight type of games.

Savior? This dude still thinks he's at USC :{

Honestly though, I'm not sure what coverage we could've played yesterday that would've stopped Calvin, greatest performance I've ever seen from a WR.

Until the fourth quarter Detroit only had one TD. Even with Megatron going off like crazy the D kept the score low. Defense had 4 turnovers and another turnover on downs. Before yesterday I think teams were like 1-55 when they lost the turnover battle by 4. Can't blame this on Kiffin. Especially when the defense gave the offense the ball at Detroits 40 with only 1:26 left.

Man yall gave up 623 yards.

The defensive only FORCED two turnovers.

The defensive only FORCED two turnovers.

LOL. What the hell does that even mean?

Deflected pass because of good d by Carr, int.
Sean Lee reads the route, int.
Good play by Heath to force fumble
Good hit on Calvin to force fumble.

You sound like a clown. Game wasn't on the defense.

Might as well pick up somebody off the street if thats the case. We've been trying to draft a legit RB for years and continue to pick the wrong ones.

You could have stripped that ball from Reggie Bush. Dude looked like he trying to throw it out of bounds.

Yeah you're right. Reggie just placed the ball neatly on the ground like a jellybean in a forest for us.

LOL. You been a clown so these responses from you are nothing out of the ordinary.

it's unfair to say "the defense only forced 2 turnovers". whatever circumstances they might have been, they forced 4. good hit on megatron, plus sean lee just being everywhere makes those turnovers. are those not forced? or better, whether they're forced or not doesn't change that they did happen.

with that said, the cowboys lost that as a team. defense got gashed all day long. 623 yards is college numbers. the offense HAS to be able to put up more points considering the defense for as bad as it was, gave the offense the ball back 4 times.

Garrett got you too. I just got done stating the way Garrett makes sure the game falls on the defenses shoulders to avoid blame.

The offense has a chance to put the game away by simply getting a first down ot KNEELING the ball forcing a punt and taking time off the clock. Instead we make sure its up to the defense to get a stop, they don't, we blame the D while Garrett's offense which has been predictible since after the GB game in 2007 gets away with a free pass.

This is why I said T.O. was right in the WIR thread.

As Bill Parcells used to say, you just got sucked in [to Garrett's scheme]. So consider yourself sucked

:lol

How's that Detroit is going to regret giving Stafford his contract prediction working out for you. :Nthat

RB is not one of our need positions even though Murray gets banged up. When there is an absolute stud at RB available when we are choosing it could happen but I think the consensus was that there was not a back like that in these past couple drafts.

Just like TE wasn't a position of need but we still wasted a 2nd rd pick on someone who wasn't going to see much playing time unless Witten got hurt.

We can't change the past though so it is what it is.
