THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || MEH

Waters wants to play through the injury. Jerry and staff advising him to just take the surgery.

Deer Antler Spray anyone?

I heard two stats that sum up Garretts tenure as head coach in Dallas.
Stat #1
Since the start of the 2011 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys led by head coach Jason Garrett, are ranked 2nd in games loss after leading going into the fourth quarter.

If that wasn't enough for you, here's stat #2:
Since the start of the 2011 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys led by head coach Jason Garrett, are the number 1 team when it comes to losing games in which they led by 10 or more points in the 4th quarter.

you know I am tired of this business man approach by the leaders on this team

yeah 12 seconds left Ware and Witten, they can do it! be real guys come on if its 22 or 32 seconds yeah no doubt but Dallas was done after that

Dez is a great player who is tired of losing, its almost like the Ware, Witten and Romo are used to meltdowns, blowups, giving the game away and failure, wake up show some emotion, be pissed off, its better than just sitting there with a blank face

idk I just totally feel what this dude Dez was thinking, why clam up? get one first down its a wrap, one slant? why not run one slant when Detroit was giving the middle of the field with press?

:{ Imagine if there were three or four more Dez Bryant's and Sean Lee's on this team. Love Ware and Witten but like you said, they don't have that passion. I'd say Romo has some... but not at the level I would like.

Jerry Jones to make more sideline trips :{

http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/cowboys/post/_/id/4718331/jerry-jones-to-make-more-sideline-trips

Guys, I hate to say this because it makes me sound like I'm not a fan but this is exactly why I don't mind losing sometimes and it would most definitely pain me to see us win a championship doing it "his way" as the 17 years of mediocrity suddenly becomes justified. I will obviously root for the team and I want them to win a chip just as bad as anyone but when we get bounced out of division contention/playoffs , I don't mind either. This dude...

""Jones' suite elevator lands at the 50-yard line where he can walk straight onto the field. After Jones gets out of his private elevator he can turn and get to the locker room in about a minute, 30 seconds with a brisk walk." "

Jerry designed the friggin stadium with this in mind...

Exactly, it's 12 seconds... a legit two plays if you're lucky, to go roughly 70 yards.
I believe in Romo's heroics as much as the next fan but the game was over and our "leaders" are so used to this, ironically from the Lions in particular, that they look numb or flat-out don't give a sh** when we take these type of losses every 4 games every season.

We've been playing the nice guy role for way too long under carrot-top and his staff, between the Chiefs L... Chargers L... Broncos L... Lions L;

The argument could be made that we choked all these games away, sh*t's getting old, quick bruh :{

that's what I am saying, great your ready to go play for those 12 seconds, but barring a miracle its over

maybe if you didn't clam up on the last two series of the game and play soft conservative football you wouldn't be in that position

I am tired of watching them give games away

this is still my favorite team in the world, but I have lost a lot of interest in them, its really embarrasing the way they give games away and lose them, this whole play not to lose mentality will never ever ever get a team anywhere unless you have an outstanding run game or defense, which Dallas has neither of

Jerry does some things I love as an owner, but for the most part I cannot stand him anymore. It will never happen, but stay on the business side of things and bring in a GM. Loyal to his players, does a lot of good things but the bad is BAD with him

Each season I lose a little piece of love and hope for this team, every season there is something awful that happens, look at the type of losses we suffered over the years. Worst part is, my optimism is fading each season as well. At this point, I think it may get worse before it gets better. Between the cap, age of core players and our general managers lack of focus on OL and DL, it could get real ugly.

I really really really hope I am wrong

Jerry coming to the sideline will allow him to see what and who the problem is, instead of being told by Garrett what the problem is.
It's shape up or ship out for Garrett.
Bring Stanford's head coach in here and let him lead us to the promised land.

It's going to get really ugly before it gets any better. Carrot-Top and the rest of our so called leaders are content with being mediocre.

Why is Jerry on the sidelines? Is he picking up a headset/clip board? Helmet/pads/cleats? If not, please sit your old *** down somewhere!

chiacrack chiacrack The biggest part of your statements that stuck out to me was "giving games away"...

I'm not even trippin' if we lose games that we legit are not holding a candle to the other team in terms of talent, coaching, or just flat out not as good as the opposition. But to literally be controlling games like the Chiefs/Lions games and to a lesser extent the beginning of the Broncos/Chargers games an still finding away to squander them away is disgusting.

With that said, we're still in 1st place and I'd really like to see us get in the tournament because we will make noise once we arrive... not sure what type... but noise will be made.

I've been saying it for years. The Cowboys winning that 3rd Superbowl without Jimmy was the worst thing to ever happen to this franchise. It fooled Jerry into thinking that he could manage a Superbowl caliber team. Don't win that third Superbowl and there's no doubt in my mind that we would have an actual GM presently and be a much better team. But this dude's ego :{

I still say that the Cowboys should only have two (maybe 3 now) coaches in their history, Landry and Jimmy. Like Irvin said, they could've won 4 in a row if Jimmy never left.

I just really hope Stephen won't be the same way as his daddy....

THIS. Jimmy and Jerry were a tandem. All those UM draft picks, the importance of the skill position player, OL/DL being dominant. What could've been :(

Y'all tripping thinking jerry jones is the problem. I just can't agree.

Dude brings talent here every year. We have a coaching staff full of overqualified guys who have been head coaches (Derek Dooley, kiffin,Marineli).

I just don't see why him coming to the sidelines is such a big deal. Whether y'all like it or not, he won 3 THREE Super Bowls for this team. Miss me with the jimmy Johnson talk. That was a tandem effort.

Jerry's business prowess seemingly makes people forget he is a football guy. He's not an owner that learned football after he bought a team. Nope.

Nd add to all that. Y'all tripping if y'all don't see jerry has been very HANDS OFF during Garrett's tenure. He pretty much allows jg to call the shots.

Look where that got us.

And where has Jerry got us since 1995? Where has ALL THAT TALENT he's brought in got us since 1995? As fans, how can we sit here and live off past success? 2 out of 3 of those Super Bowls are 20 years old, how can we continue to mention this in our arguments? To make matters worse, we have not made it out of the DIVISIONAL ROUND in the playoffs since 1995!! A wild-card win in 96 and a wild-card win in 2009 that's it! Is that okay with you? It's not like we're out here making runs to multiple NFC Championship games and losing like the Sheagles to justify Jerry's Way is working. He may not be the main the problem but he's definitely not exempt from our overall issues.

And I'll give you Marineli but Kiffin/Dooley = overqualified? You're trippin fam. Kiffin is washed up and Dooley didn't do a damn thing in the college ranks, 32-41 as a head coach at La. Tech & Tennesse, miss me with the OVERQUALIFIED talk.

Breh, I know you don't believe Garrett relinquished play calling duties by choice. Jerry stripped him of the play calling.

Drafts? Like the 2009 draft that has NO ONE on this team as of today besides James Hanna? Or how about trading a 1st, 3rd, and 6th, and conditional 7th for Roy E. Williams, who was set to test the open market in free agency at the end of that season anyway? Better yet, how about giving up two first for Joey Galloway?

Come on man, I love Jerry the business man but the GM? Those first two SB's were all Jimmy. You heard Jerry say "I could make 50 million dollars for this team in less than a year and no one cares. But if I pick (player x), the fans love that. I wanna be apart of this Jimmy." The exact quote is slightly jacked but Jerry wants to be on the football side of things and doesn't know football.

This past draft was another indication of how "hands off" Jerry is with Garrett. Our initial report had Fredrick placed in the 2nd to 3rd round. If you watched the war room, Jason Garrett was HOT (visibly) about that pick in the first round. Again, we WANTED Frederick, but not that early.

There's a reason why big name HC's DON'T want to come here. They don't want the circus atmosphere Jerry creates. Parcells had to damn near have it in writing that Jerry STAY AWAY, and even then, after year 4, he goes and brings in T.O. Don't get it twisted, I love me some Owens (pause) but the point is, Jerry meddles in everything.

17 years and counting. 17 years...

P.S.: Our "talent" is vastly overrated. What makes us talented is the fact that we have talent at specifc skill positions. But that doesn't mean **** if the guys in the trenches are JAG's. We can have 7 Revis' in the secondary and if we don't get pressure you get eaten up. You can have [Prime] Jerry Rice and [Prime] Randy Moss split wide, and [Prime] T.O. in the slot but if your offensive line can't give your QB time, it doesn't mean ****.

exactly bro GIVING games away, I agree with you, losing is one thing but the way we lose is just awful

as for the war room cam, Garrett was pissed off when we traded down either because of a player we passed on or the fact we lost value on the trade

he was smiling when Fred was the pick, but when we were on the clock and traded down he looked pissed as hell

Does NFL Network ever replay the games Cowboys win? I swear the "game of the week" always consist of a game in which they [fashionably] lose

Because there's enough Cowboys lovers out there that revenue will always come in from Dallas win or lose. But when they lose, 90% of non Cowboys fans tune in and even more money is made. People love seeing Dallas do bad. That's the reason why we seem to never get calls/good bye weeks, and ALWAYS get the roughest part of out schedule at the end of the season. The Cowboys losing is good for the league because everyone likes to see it.

That's my theory anyways :lol

No. That theory is not a theory. It's actually very true. :lol

It's the reason the Dez rant is STILL being discussed on sportscenter. Doubt if we had lost if it'd be getting this much coverage. Or if Dez played for lets say...Jacksonsville?

Which actually brings up another point. It's quite sad that Calvin's once in a lifetime type of performance has been receiving little to zero coverage whereas the Dez story is/was EVERYWHERE. You wouldn't know what Calvin did without looking at the stats :lol

Everyone expected Calvin Johnson to get his catches, yards, and touchdowns.
What no one expected was Garrett to tuck his tail and not come out fighting with his best weapon.
I expect us to beat the Vikings, so Garrett gets no credit if we win.
