THE OFFICIAL 2024 - 2025 DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON THREAD || MEH

Say what you will Dak is gunslinging

Playcalling is SUSPECT.
2 Fake Punts (the first more egregious, how you down big already and go for a fake punt in your own territory). Why go for 2 Down 9? You take the 1, make it 8, and then go for 2 when absolutely necessary.
There was a 3&5 in the 1st, that we rushed 3, and let Matt Ryan waddle to a 1st down, and then throw a wide open TD to Hearst because everyone bites on the screen.
There's a bunch of other horrible defensive formations as well

Edit: Falcons Special Teams may be worse than ours

the 2pt conversion call was the worst call of the game.
Then on the 1 1st and goal the next score and they want to throw back shoulder throws? Give the ball to zeke and make these lineman strap up and move someone.

Big mike needs to take over playcalling

Dak had a hell of a game.

Trevon Diggs looks like a player.

CeeDee Lamb is great.

Zeke looks explosive and focused for the first time in a couple years.

Lots to be concerned about, but plenty of good stuff going on, too.

People are complaining about Kellen Moore but the offense looks good.

Some weird over-aggressive decisions through 2 weeks. Almost feels like McCarthy realizes these guys have been painfully conservative for a decade and is fine risking some stuff early to overextend and break that mindset.

that 2 point try was just stupid as was going for the fake punt the 2nd time around.

Yeah, those two were massive WTF moments...

If you're gonna go for it on that second fake punt, just leave your offense on the field.

The unnecessary two-point attempt is inexplicable. There's no justification McCarthy could give there that would make sense.

I mean - if you're operating on the assumption you won't convert the two, maybe.

But I'd find it hard to believe Mike McCarthy was thinking "well if i don't get it here, we'll recover on onside kick!"

The thought process - especially with the new rules around onside kicks and how fringe-impossible they are - should probably be to do everything in your power to avoid on onside kick scenario.

Would guess pretty heavily any analytical measure says to make it a one-score game and you're significantly more likely to win in that scenario.

Don't know what to think about the Seattle game 🤔
Don't know what kind of team we are on either side of the ball
Offense is just efficient but not over powering yet
Maybe this is a breakout game

The fact we aren’t getting blown out is kind of insane.

We need the tackles to get healthy. It’s impossible to ***** about play calling or Dak when we’re down three tackles and now a fourth and pushing Zach Martin out there.
