He's my favorite sports player in history. Period. Ever since I saw dude beasting in college and then him breaking down when he was drafted I've been convinced. Just watching Dez gets me hype.

draft night 2010 was probably one of my favorite moments in sports history, that was a sick draft class and a lot of teams came out well, but watching him fall to 24 and get drafted by us was awesome to watch, I ordered my jersey the very next day when they announced he would be wearing 88, I thought he was going to wear 81 but 88 has the history

Romo, Witten and Allen are not GREAT leaders.
They are guys that can help with team morale.
But they aren't considered great leaders.
When you have grown men with families, millions of dollars, and whatever else comes with the territory; it takes a special type of individual to lead them to greatness.
Hopefully someone on this team has the intangibles to be that guy.

The obvious are Brees, Brady, Eli, Peyton, Woodson, Ed Reed, Rodgers, Matthews, and now Flacco.
Those guys lead their entire organizations.
When they speak everyone listens, including the owners.
Guys like Adrian Peterson, Patrick Willis, JJ Watt, and Steve Smith are "great" leaders they just don't have the hardware.

I think romo is making strides in the right direction.

Witten just seems like he is out there on his own. I would like to see him talk to the oline when they go offsides or miss an assignment.

Romo pulled williams to the side after that interception when years ago he would just act like nothing happened

When is the last time Romo or Witten were mic'ed up and they said something and you were like "that's what I'm talking about! Get them boys crunk Romo, or get'em fired up Witten!"
I'm not knocking them, just don't think they are that guy.
As a Cowboys fan it pains me to admit, but Romo hasn't "recovered" from blowing it in the playoffs back to back years in '06 and '07.
A lot of the criticism he receives is based on his play, not people's opinion.
Can't consider him a "great" leader until he puts it all together and wins the big game.
Danny White led the Cowboys to the playoffs and NFC Championship game, and he gets no love in this city.

I disagree, Romo is always involved and going over things with the OL and WRs. Watch him mic'd up its awesome.

Witten can't say anything to anybody about false starts and holding because he's one of the worst on the team.
Like Jerry said the window of opportunity is getting smaller.
Romo has to get it done NOW.
If he has greatness in him, it's time to show it.

I dont remember what game it was, if I can find it ill post it, but i never said they were great. Based on that list above leaders I dont understand why you would exclude them from that list.

Exactly he's so involved and has a great understanding of the game.

I'm 100 percent positive it was the Saints game, if I'm wrong I'd be shocked

Dez is definitely someone to get the players fired up. If you have seen enough of him you know he brings that competetive fire to the practices, meetings, and definitely games. One or two more years he will be a solidified leader. Witten is pretty vocal and so is Romo. Will Allen brings good leadership with him too. Oh and keep Jerry up in the box with his man-slave unless its the Superbowl. Last thing you would want is a Ratliff-esque situation happening in front of the world.

IMO Intangible stuff has very little to do with what happens on the field. Its personnel and execution. I've been saying this for a few years, if they aren't good in the trenches on both sides of the ball you won't win in this league period. When they get good because I think they're on the right track with this OL then these general discussions about leadership and heart will stop because if you win you must have it and if you lose then you must don't.

I exclude them because they have yet to come thru in the time of need on the biggest stages.
I do think Romo can lead us to the Super Bowl.
But then the question becomes can he do enough to win it once he gets there.

Ive said the same, we have to get better in the trenches, and right now if there was a weakness on either side of the ball that is where the finger pointing would start.

I wouldnt say this guy is a great leader but he could be my QB......

romo, witten, allen, & dez are all good leaders for this team imo... especially dez, i love the emotion he's always showing. that's what this team needs & when we're looking for a comeback down in the 4th i feel like he can help spark things up. & i agree, i've been impressed every time romo has been mic'd up in the past.

that dez draft video never gets old either

KC has me a little uneasy tomorrow... last years 2nd game is still fresh in my mind & with our schedule getting tougher as the season goes on, we need to take advantage of these winnable games at the start. if we get off to a great start, going into the rough part of our schedule could be with a lot more needed confidence.

KC has me a little uneasy tomorrow... last years 2nd game is still fresh in my mind & with our schedule getting tougher as the season goes on, we need to take advantage of these winnable games at the start. if we get off to a great start, going into the rough part of our schedule could be with a lot more needed confidence.

The game tomorrow will be tuff. KC is sneaky good. They have to force Smith to have to beat them. Get up early and put KC on there heals and they must keep Charles in check. That's a lot to do so if they win it may be by a FG.
