Hot water makes stains set in.
Cold to warm water with a hard bristle toothbrush and dawn dish soap does the trick

That totally worked, even after the hot water mistake! A hundred million thank yous from me and my aquas, you're a dang lifesaver. I didn't even know that I used Dawn for doing dishes, thankfully I do, and it couldn't have come out better.
