THE OFFICIAL AIR MAX 1 THREAD

Also didn't purchase them. Volt midsole absolutely killed it (in the bad way) for me. Wish they'd done a white midsole and kept the "3.26" tag.

Was at COncepts today for their 60% off sale copped some Air Max 1 Geometrics real nice I have to say but even better with that price. Anyhow, stay tuned because they will be posting alot of the stuff on their site in the coming days

Yea, 4/5 for $180 + arm + leg.

Saw an ig post from primitive about them having a late stock on the Air Max 1 "AMD" and went ******* thought I was gonna get em cuz everyone was lining for the Jordan's ... And some chick bought the 10 & 10.5!!! Hella heated went inside as I was next in line to cop (cuz I wasn't gonna head back empty handed and thought I could trade) asked for the last size which was an 8.0 and I look in my bag in the car it's an 11.0!! I don't know if they were lying or what not but I snagged a par for retail .. (Hoping to trade this by today or sell cuz I was talking to a seller located in Los Angeles for a size 10.0 for $220 that wants to deal by tommorow) *sigh struggle is real for these...

This makes my head hurt.

Shops gotta pay the bills somehow
I have to disagree with this. My local, which I handle the IT/Web stuff for doesn't mark anything up. Cork Brons went for retail along with Platinum Yeezy's, and every other hype release that has dropped. If you take care of the customer they will come back and buy the inline releases along with the hyped ones. A repeat customer is worth more than a few extra bucks on a limited release.

That's just my opinion though, from what I have seen first hand. Every situation is different, but in an ideal world the customer/business relationship should be mutually beneficial.

What's up with the toebox bs? I didn't own the air max as a kid due to lack of funds (I had generic converse..Instead of the converse logo it was an indians head) but I remember kids having air max and the toebox was more slender. That's what made them look cool to me. Is nike making them like this now purposely? Or is it another case of bad QC?

I don't think this toe box issue is just a bad case of QC. The more recent am 1's have been having the rounded and bulkier toe boxes with some exception. It seems that Nike is using the old shape on am's made from new materials (hyperfuse, tape). It's probably because they want to attract older air max collectors to the new generation am's. Also, I've read somewhere here in the thread that where they're made makes a difference on how they like look shape wise.

The volt is easier to take with Sport Blue, but I still wouldn't buy it just because I wanted to send a message. I think this will be the year I finally pull the trigger on some sport red/blue iD with a gum sole. I keep meaning to, but something else always comes up.
