One Piece
I liked this chapter, it was pretty good. The break next week was expected, but it's still unfortunate.
We got to see a little of Zoro's training. It's also nice to see everyone's reputation start to rise.
I liked the call back to how Luffy beat Bellamy at Mock Town and I guess Oda needed to damage Luffy to make the fight closer, so he had Luffy just sit there and take punches. Still wondering what's going to happen with Trebol, all he's done is sit there as well and at this point Radio Knife has worn off.
I wish Oda didn't off-panel Fujitora helping civilians, cause he made it seem like Fuji was doing nothing for so long, and I know time gets distorted between in story and out of story, but Fuji being lax has been a detractor in the arc, cause it makes almost 0 sense other than some vague statements he made.
I'm hoping it's Burgess rampaging through the castle where Koala is and that's why she had to call Sabo, although I'd really like to get to see Koala in action.
Also, at this point Oda has created an opportunity to insert the tension that has been missing since the time skip back into the series. He had the chance with Shinokuni on punk hazard and ran away from the opportunity, and he's given himself a way to run away this time too with Mansherry. I hope he doesn't use Mansherry to solve all these problem, he needs to commit to either Bellamy dying, Law dying (which is highly unlikely) or at a minimum coming out of the arc permanently maimed, and Doflamingo needs to go be it death by Law, Luffy, Kaido, or my theory, CP-0, or Fuji putting him in Impel Down. He's more like a Wapol, who after a defeat has the power to rise up again, although unlike Wapol Doffy wouldn't stay self contained. Oda, probably won't, but he should commit to someone dying this arc and major permanent injuries. I don't think death is the only way to insert tension into a series, and often it's the laziest way to do it, especially since Vergo and Monet's deaths didn't do much, but in this instance a significant death is needed to make us believe that the risk or consequence of death is there. Every other attempt to insert tension into this arc so far has failed, except when Ussop was running away leaving Robin's fate up in the air, the only problem is that pissed people off more than it put them at the edge of their seats. It would be significant if Bellamy died due to it directly being by Luffy's hand paired with Doflamingo's manipulation, I think it would push Luffy's development.
Right now Oda's cliffhanger means nothing because no one believes that anyone will die and we haven't for a long time. I don't think he needs to change his style and start killing off characters left and right, but a death that matters in the present instead of a flashback could go a long way, because we may start believing that countdowns matter, or obstacles won't be easily overcome, etc.

This Root A version really didn't diverge from the Manga as much as I expected? What was the point then if all points lead to the same possible conclusion? Omitting some of the best scenes from the manga too.

What a great episode of Death Parade this week. It threw me for a loop. I don't know what I would have done there at the end if it was me.
