The official DC Animated movies thread

batwing's kind of lame. His story was a little similar to cyborg's in one of the justice league movies. His suit is like a mix of ironman and batman beyond.

Bad Blood was pretty damn good. Def one of my favorites next to Red Hood

Batwing is lame and I was confused as hell thinking that was Cyborg or something

The ending had me confused

just finished bad blood. its probably my least favorite of the recent dc animated movies, which isn't saying much because it was still a good movie but just my least favorite of the last few.

that final scene though?? got me hyped and confused at the same time

and I'm not sold on batwing.
interesting. I actually enjoyed it more than the other recent Batman movies. I actually didn't think Batman vs robin or son of Batman were all that good, honestly.

Didn't know Alfred was that skilled with the fisticuffs :smokin
Those fight scenes in Batman vs Robin were :hat

Wasn't a huge fan of this, but it was solid.

Yeah, I was like dude is creepy. At least he didn't have a hairline like bruce and damian.

The way Talia acted in the movie was really weird. She didn't care about anyone anymore.

It was aight, Heretic's Oedipus vibe got weird quick and his simple demise was meh.
It wasn't Oedipus my dude, Talia suffered from Munchausen’s Syndrome by Proxy, in which she abused Damien to get Bruce to love her. Heretic suffered RAD like Damien, only he was mentally disturbed because he didn't have the pathological memories or feelings which assisted Damien in reasoning and suppressing his rage.

It was explained in the scene right before she...(spoiler) and then again in the aircraft in the third act.

What was the one incident
That made night wing just hate batman like he does
I forget
I do remember in batman the animated series
They actually showed an episode where he starts to hate batman
I forget the plot
Just remember robin in just a helmet racing his motorcycle
And throughout the whole episode robin is having flashbacks
But can't remember why he starts to initially resent him
I don't think night wing gets his proper credit
From batman and folks
Also Tim drake
Hope we get to se Jason Todd again also
He was :hat in the red hood

What does everyone think about Damian?

Is he supposed to represent a younger Batman but with a killing mentality?

DC Universe Animated Original Movies' lead character artist Phil Bourassa's team are re-imagining their own Batman universe. The team started with Son Of Batman, and then Batman vs. Robin. Batman: Bad Blood was their third film.

Bourassa said they don't really make changes to cannon material unless it doesn't fit into their concepts. Like we saw with Luke being introduced as Batwing, opposed David Zavimbe. In Bad Blood, Grayson explained that Bruce is a mask for Batman and he doesn't let anyone in, even those he trusts and that complicated their relationship as he got older.

In Son of Batman,  Damian was trained by Ra's Al Agul to be an emotionless subordinate trained to kill. His rage comes from abandonment issues, learning who his father is and his mother's abuse. When he became Robin, Bruce prohibited him from killing, and as we saw in Bad Blood he adheres to it independently now.

But what was the plot device or specific straw that broke the camels back
With the hate from night wing
Like the official cannon and comic reason
What happened???? 8o

In the comics they split up in the early 80s because Robin wanted to develop his own identity separate from Batman and wanted to entrench himself more as the leader of the Teen Titans.

There was definitely tension but nothing in the way of complete hatred or anything like that

...I blog on media, and there's a burgeoning trend in comics and superhero films. They're starting to be socially responsible in the way villains are presented, heroes too.
Companies even hire media psychologists for consulting and even on set with the talent in films. The most of us can consume media and rationalize behavior, but then there's Heath Ledger and James Holmes.
