i'm pretty pumped for a Flyknit Kobe as is, an HTM aka $500+ sounds good to me!
Like everyone else, I'm scared of the MSRP.
Keep in mind the Flyknit Chukkas are $170, hopefully less than that!

Sounds like there is some potential there, but I refuse to spend over $180, and I refuse to have to jump through hoops for a pair of Kobes (EDIT: I refuse to jump through hoops for a pair of pretty much anything actually). Hopefully these sacrifice the exclusivity of the HTM power group releases in favor of mass-producing (or as close as flyknits can get to that) greatness.

The 8 went relatively without a hype inducing shoe and now they've decided to start this line with a bang. Guess I can just print out a picture and just hang it on the wall or make it a background on my PC, lol.

An HTM to start off the 9...probably looking at a $250 price point for them. I can see Nike giving us an insane, limited CW to begin with and then ease us into thinking that $180 isn't so bad for a GR. Probably going to give us something close to LeBron X pricing since the X sold relatively well if I'm not mistaken

My guess will be
$250 for HTM's
$220 for elites
$180 for GR's

They WILL be super limited, no reason to believe they won't.

As much as everyone hates the hoops we gotta jump through... maybe HTM is a good sign that they're working on the hypebeast, lifestyle aspects of the Kobe line? ie it'll be sticking around after he retires?

HTMs will def carry a higher retail price, but 220 for elites?! The 8s are 220 (with the +). I'm thinking retail on the regular 9s will be no less than 190, but I'm really thinking 200+. Elites will easily be 250+.

You guys are really underestimating Nike with this one.... Look at Lebrons, Jordans, even KDs got a 15 price hike to go from a mid to a low. Less material ='s more $$?! What the hell...

Have your pockets ready people, this ride is about to get rough.

I hope they don't continue the elites this year. Just give kobe a low, kd another model and some nsw colorways and call it a day.

Also it makes sense for the main Kobe 9 to have some of that "lifestyle" appeal if they're expecting him to be sidelined by injury for any part of it.

Chances are he comes back by a December release of the shoes (honestly it's probably gonna be opening night), but Nike doesn't want to experience what adidas did with Derrick Rose and the D Rose 3, 3.5 shoes.

I can't see these being more than $170 for the base model. Nike is really hiking prices, but I don't see more than a $30 hike. They won't be all flyknit in the upper, so comparing these to the chukka's doesn't make sense. Let's be optimistic in here!

You make so much sense, yet I don't want to believe you. Santa Claus is real, folks.

Man, at $200+ I might just have to call it after one or two pairs.

Lebron XI are $200 Doubt Kobes will be priced the same. $180 tops 8o

I agree with this post. Nike seems to have established their sig pricing hierarchy as of late: Lebron > Kobe > KD. It would seem odd that they would switch it now, but if Nike thinks they can get more $ for them, then I wouldn't put it past them to raise the price closer to (or equal to) the Lebron XI.

If this is all true. I think it is time to retire after one pair. One and done for each expensive sig.

Collaboration between Hiroshi Fujiwara, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, and Nike CEO Mark Parker.

They've done a few nice collabs in the past that are usually pretty nice, and very limited.

This can only turn out amazing. No other outcome is acceptable.

Its getting pretty crazy with the $$$

No one ever mentions the fact that the price of materials are going up, which is another reason Nike's are increasing in price across the board. EVERYTHING is more expensive these days - materials, gas, food, etc. Washington is to blame, don't get me started.
