My guess would be "Cost" It's most likely cheaper to do half of it than do the full with the metallic gold. 

Eveb though they can do it. a la the C&C 7
 
^I prefer the clear sole with light colors. dark colors I don't like clear sole.clear sole goes better with the nets theme IMO.

You mean the top part is metallic and the bottom not? The bottom half is mesh/neoprene so you can't make that metallic unless you use the synthetic material. I don't think they want that as it'll take away the breathability. The bottom half is still gold at least but I prefer it was the same color as the upper like how it is on the Mamba Days.
 
Has anyone been able to play in all 3 cushioning setups?

I'm leaning towards Lunarlon as I love the 8's.  However I love the zoom setup on the 2K4 (assuming this isn't full zoom)
 
Anyone try on their Mamba Day iD's?

Mine feel significantly tighter than the regular Flyknit Elites... will be returning mine unfortunately.
