That's the harddrive's freefall sensor.

Whenever it senses sudden movement, it locks the platters of the harddrive from moving to avoid potential damage.

i personally wouldn't start with a macbook air unless you plan on keeping your pc as a main computer.

go to system preference, accounts, click on the lock to unlock it and make changes, type in your password, click on login options, and make sure enable fastuser switching, then view as name

What's a good, free photo editing software? Is it already on my Mac? I've never messed with iPhoto that much to be honest, just uploaded some stuff.I'm considering posting some photography of mine on here, but would also like to tag my name for copyright purposes. Thanks guys.

iphoto sucks ... all it pretty much does is organize your photos so you're forced to buy photoshop if you want to actually edit photo's. However,i've read that GIMP is pretty good and it's free.

all those people who keep asking..

you can do your ringtones straight off your itunes.
find song -> right click -> get info -> options -> start time - stop time (choose which part you want no longer then .30 Sec.) -> Create ACCVersion -> Put it on your desktop -> Delete the ACC version from iTunes -> change .m4a to .m4r -> double click .m4r, and you should be done.

Make sure you uncheck start time and stop time on your song when you finished.

I was wondering how to share my home computer to my macbook... It would be cool to access files wirelessly without the hassle of emailing or using a flashdrive..

They are both on the same network, I just don't know how to connect my macbook to the PC... Thanks for the help

i think you need to have you desktop to have some sort've wireless receiver sort've like the macbook has.
