Nice! I have the 1st gen 27-inch iMac and plan on upping the ram to 16gbs so it could last me another 10 years.Just got an older iMax (20 inch, 2008 model) for the free
updated to 8 gigs of ram and installed the latest OS, runs like a dream
This might be the wrong thread as I swear there was another Mac thread, but oh well.
Does anyone have the retina display? The 15" is amazing but that price rag is not. I'm thinking about going for the 13"
For free? Damn, excellent come up homie.
Been detached from the internet for the past month or so....
I'm looking to buy a new Mac Pro.... have the spring upgrades already taken place or should I wait before purchasing... looking to get the 15 inch retina with all upgrades.
Thx fellas
About 2 years ago I bought a '06 macbook for $200 (The girl just wanted to get rid of it). I upgraded the ram, hard drive, and OS for like $60-80 bucks and it worked fine for all those things you want to do. I would still have it now, if best buy didn't give me so much to trade it in. $350 doesn't sound to bad to me if I was going to get one. The battery will likely need to be replaced from that year, so take that into account. Idk if that model has all the touchpad gestures that make OS X so great so you may decide to purchase a touchpad too. What's a good price for an '08 MacBook? I know they're pretty dated but I love the simple glossy white design. Besides, I'm only gonna be using it to surf the web, listen to music, and watch movies. I'm sure any processor is good enough to do that. I'm thinking at most I'll have to upgrade the RAM. I'm seeing some 15 inch versions for around $350 on Craigslist, is that reasonable? Also is there a battery issue with these? I had a '10 MBP that lasted for 15 mins when it wasn't plugged in. Thanks for any help.
School work, browse the web, and music primarily. What are you planning to do with it
The entire macbook? Does it have the screen "burn in" problem? If so just emphasis that as well because they can't replace just the screen, they'd have to swap the mbp.Homies, my MBP retina just fell from my bed. The sd card is jammed in the slot and won't start up now. I have 25 days left on the applecare. I set up an appointment with them for tomorrow but i'm wondering... How can i get them to replace it completely ?
