Warriors in 5, sir @Elpablo21

Not that I think these numbers hold any merit, but for lone slander purposes of course;

Most Finals Losses by MVP

LeBron James 2-4

Wilt Chamberlain 2-4

Magic Johnson 5-4

Abdul-Jabbar 6-4

Hm

I feel a little validation

Love this time of year with NHL and NBA finals going on :hat

Stephen Curry set an NBA record for points over 3 games as his team overcame a 3–1 deficit

Nahh steph was carried like yoda..something something

:rolleyes
Steph did not set a record for points over 3 playoff games. Source of this statement is suss...
yeah I was confused too. it is for most points scored by a team down 3-1 that then came back to win. which has now happened 10 times.

if we're talking playoffs... Jordan avoided 145 in a 3-game sweep. Jerry West averaged 46 points per game over a 6-game series. Curry is impressive of course but that was a case of cherry-picking to give him a record.
Ah, I see now. Def had Jordan and wests 45 ppg on my mind when I read that :rollin

If Cavs are really going to make this a 3 point contest, then the series is dead on arrival

Warriors will probably just defend the Cavs like they did last finals where they let Bron get whatever he wants inside and they stay at home on the shooters.
how do you see that same method working this year with a fully healthy cavs squad?  it's not iman shumpert and delly waiting in the wings anymore, there will be actual shooters this time.

posts like this make me really wonder why I check into this thread...intelligence potato

Lol wait, so it's a bad strategy to stay at home on better shooters?

Am I reading this right? :rollin

Warriors in 5. Calfs take game 3 in controversial fashion. Then the dubs close the book on em. Lebron shaves his head and goes into exile, never to be seen or heard from again. Klay Thompson finals MVP.

Is the format 2-3-2 or 2-2-1-1-1?

They changed this ish like 5 years ago. Yall gotta get with it :lol

I say Warriors in 6, 5 if CLE decides to continue to be that Aggressive shooting threes. if those aren't hitting GS is gonna kill them in transition and I Don't trust anyone on that team staying confident once those inevitable Warriors runs happen (outside of Kyrie).

The cavs best lineup during this playoffs has included THREE average at best defenders & guys who are terrible off ball defenders. You are now going to throw that in against GS who is elite as they come as far as screening for players and getting them open.

Also unlike WB, steph can guard Kyrie for large chunks of the game w/o expending all his energy because kyrie isn't a freakish athlete nor is he gonna over power curry in the paint. They also have Barnes, Klay, Iggy, Draymond & Livingston who can all share the task of guarding Bron and atleast making him work to get buckets.

I think people are really underestimating, a few things about the warriors this year compared to last.

1) They are coming off a season where they took the record, down 3-1 to a team that has two of the best players in the L and came back to win several close games to get to the finals. They have been tested a million times over compared to last season. That confidence and trust is going to come up HUGE in this series

2) Last year the thing the Cavs did to slow down the W's was play physical ball & minimize possesions. They are literally the exact opposite of that team right now. Mogsov was great for them in that series & i don't even think he sees the floor anymore, Thompson is getting his minutes cut in favor of a 7 foot spot up shooter. & Delly is clearly not gonna see the floor as much due to Kyrie being back. I don't see a rookie coach being able to just flip the switch and bring CLE out of this run & gun mentality.

3) CLE has yet to play one opponent who is even remotely similar to GS in regards of how they can attack. This team has not been introduced into any pressure & unlike the Heat days.. Bron and Bron only is gonna have to be the one to rally the troops and based off his career so far when he isn't getting things easy his game becomes less and less aggressive. LBJ who attacked them all game last year did that out of necessity. we've seen this guyin the Finals before and truthfully speaking the few times we have seen him really be completely aggressive were points where he had no other choice... CLE can't afford to be in a hole when Lebron finally decides to attack non stop and history shows us that will most likely be the case.

Hmm..GS offense is mostly based off the 3 ball..which is rightfully so considering they got the 3pt champ and the MVP. Clevelands D is alot more solid than OKCs was. If the 3 aint fallin for GS ..watch out..they might be in trouble(at least during that time). One thing i noticed in the last round..those games Curry wasn't all the way on point..Klay WAS basically the offense..and they lost. Curry always bounces back thou.. Im interested what will happen if Cleveland catches fire from deep..basically JR, Kyrie, Love, and Frye. GSs firepower vs. Clevelands D should make it interesting. Im just watching cuz i love hoops..my team couldn't close out GS..but at least made them sweat heavily for the first time in forever..and exposed their weakness..if any. Neutral in 6 :rolleyes

What excuse does he need?

Cavs aren't better than the Warriors at anything on a basketball court.

Doesn't matter

Bron had that interview at the beginning of the season and used the injury bug as an excuse AFTER the fact he established himself as the best player in the league

He has the tools to win but he won't

The biggest weakness that okc exposed was the warriors defensive rebounding. But that's cuz okc can put a big ish lineup that makes gs pay for their smaller size and still be able to guard the perimeter.

The Cavs almost certainly has to play small to keep up, so there's really nothing for the Cavs to expose now..

CLE also doesn't have a lineup of three 6'11-7 fters, One of those being a guy who moves quick as a guard... Length bothered the W's a lot & the ability for there bigs to switch. If the cavs are comfy leaving Frye & Love on an island with Steph & Klay good luck. The only big they have capable of doing what Ibaka/Adams/ Kanter were able to do is Thompson... Who is a offensive liability for them.

Yeah this is going to be interesting to see.  They may have to bring Mozgod back in.

Its a good thing they gave up two first rounders for him.

I think... man they're about to ban me from the Lebron hater thread :{ ...I think I got Cavs in 7 :o

This isn't anything I have against GS (even though I think Draynond Green is a piece of ****) but I'm adamant that Golden State's weakness is protecting the paint. Steven Adams isn't as "dominant" of a player as Lebron James and him clogging the paint had Golden State on the ropes. Golden state stayed out the paint in the last 2 games and when 3-point crazy. The Cavs have to be the total opposite. They can't play the 3 ball game with GS, and that's how GS traps you. Lebron has to be physically imposing and crash to the basket and draw fouls. Kyrie is going to have to facilitate and not be so hung up on scoring and finally Kevin Love is going to be the X-factor. Because the Cavs made it to the finals just fine without him last year he has to add to their overall depth and draw horse mouth Draymond out the paint. It doesn't take a killer defense to stop golden state, it takes killer stamina on both sides of the ball. Watching OKC being stagnant with getting back on defense when they lose out on the rebound battle is what sunk them. Tristan Thompson will have to be physically imposing down in the paint as well.

The pieces are there for the Cavs. And even though Lebron is still a **** boy I don't think he's been this hungry since the Mavs spanked him in 2011. The first time in a long time he's been the underdog.

live by the JR
Die by the JR
:x

Thompson will get rebounds and they just have to hit those open 3's when he kicks it out but when they go small x small, welp
Green doesn't have to deal with Adams anymore, thats a huge advantage , he can easily guard Love
Westbrook is better than Kyrie , speed x athletic wise, maybe Kyrie is better at 3's but Steph can actually play his meh defense and keep up with Kyrie

Fyre can be the difference maker though, Mo/the forwards x centers will have to stay out of the paint
but then again, SHOOK always plays a factor who knows

Thompson was pretty bad last finals too, hopefully he doesn't play shook anymore

random I know but....
The only reason LeBron guards Rose x Rondo is because they can't shoot, hes not going to guard Curry because Curry can put him on skates and in 2016, that will be played over and over and over , his ego can't take it

Cavs in 5. Ohio finally gets rid of the championship drought.

Thompson's a good rebounder but he's no Adams. His size and rim protection scared GS from going small. They won't be as worried about Thompson. He's still an undersized C. Will be way easier for Green to box out.

I disagree about Love being the x factor. This is not the series for Love and you guys will see. He'll get rebounds for the Cavs but that's about it... Cavs would've been better off with Wiggins in this series. He'd have made the warriors pay for extending their defense which I predict they will do.

Sounds bad.. But I hope Draymond catches an accidental elbow in the mouth.. I couldn't stand that dude last year. Let alone this year. Was happy to see Adam's DDT his ### last night [emoji]128514[/emoji] .... And I'm still neutral on who wins..Just want a good series.. Non of that 4 game and it's over crap.

Is it fair to say Lebron will be the best defensive player on the floor?
