The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Begins | Embiid Debut | Klay Return

They look at the change in the scale, see the player is still lean and attribute all of the weight to muscle

He was lighter than a lot of point guards, so of course he’ll still look lean after some weight gain.

But 35 pounds in five months, 75% of that is fat and will need to come off.

The only translatable skill Emoni had was his shooting. Him gaining 35lbs of mass doesn't help him in any way shape or form unless he plans on playing on the block. That's a wildly confusing move unless the team told him to do it 🤔

That’s over a year, not five months. Don’t believe for a minute he put on 25 lbs of fat 🤣

Getting stronger is never a bad idea, but the only way to limit fat gain is to gain weight slowly. 3-4 pounds a month if you’ve never seriously touched weights before.

Like you pointed out, putting on a bunch of weight (mostly fat) when you’re already a pedestrian to mediocre athlete is not helping you

Gaining strength is never a bad thing in the NBA. However gaining 35 lbs in one off season just screams potential knee problems. But at his age some that weight gain is natural. Ain’t he like only 20?

It's that time of year again.

If Ben Simmons cares about anything, it's the next contract. I am sure we will see him suite up this year and take a couple of 3s to make headlines.

Sounds like the second half of the season's officiating will continue into this season.

I'll believe it when I see it. They said this before. First 25 games they enforce it. Then the stars numbers go down and they cant afford to have these guys that they've built up look weak and by All-Star break they back to calling the same type of calls that we are used to

Fixed.

Anyways, excited for Kuminga, Podz & TJD. This new warriors group got a lot of interesting parts.

Moses Moody may unfortunately be the odd man out. Between Melton, Slo-Mo, GpII, Podz, Heild….i just don’t see that many minutes for him. Unless Wiggins continues trending down. But it’s still not much time left over.

They will be playing fast this year, and Looney has dropped like 25 lbs, and extended his range some.

Most interesting team to keep an eye on.

10 or 11 seed being the most interesting to watch

The propaganda always is doing the most.
