i think mavs would be smart to offer him the extension. at worst, they can trade him down the line. 4 years/$77 million is a bargain for a big who can produce in the starting line up or off the bench. defense is a glaring issue but deandre ayton doesn't defend the rim or on swtiches exceptionally well but got almost double that contract.

Moving screens, Carry’s , cant be as physical defensively. on offense you can get away with a nice little bump then finish and you can basically push off defenders not to mention the gather step,
