The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Begins | Embiid Debut | Klay Return

They seem like a team who lacks that veteran presence that can get them really far. Steven Adams is the oldest on the team and he's 29 somehow.

AI went to Denver then Detroit & was not the catalyst for each team’s downfall.

Never played a regular szn game in Memphis.

Went out on his farewell tour back home.

These two are not the same>D

AI ain’t never come off nobody’s bench, **** he look like?
He didn’t play 3 games without any starts in 2009- 2010 for them? Asking because I remember him subbing in mid 1st qtr and subbing out before the qtr was over and the scene between him and Lionel Hollins was Epic. It was against the kings

Against the lakers that year he was yelling y’all need to double Kobe to the coaching staff and Hollins told him shut up before I make you guard him one on one.

You saw it the year Klay and Steph were hurt. Just another guy averaging less than 10 pts getting T’D up and losing games.

Draymond as THE GUY (which he never be) on GSW without Steph and Klay =/= Draymond as a complimentary piece on another team

Coming off a major injury, that’s expected. Since the calendar turn he’s missed as many games as Jokic and Giannis.
He exceeded the timeline for the injury by months and when he came back he had another setback. Don't know how that was expected. Part of the reason people (foolishly) picked them to win it all is because they expected him to be ready to go

can never blame him for leaving or going to
GS. If he didn’t, he never would have have a chance to play real basketball at the highest level.

Meh, KD threw the series against GS in 16 and ran from the grind when they were going to have a much stronger team the next season to. He's not a leader which is fine. He went to the finals and multiple conference finals with Russ.

I’m not denying his timelines aren’t crazy. His minutes restriction got lifted a minute ago and he’s missed the games other stars have.

I say all that to say this, it’s #noexcuses

People always talk about "KD went to the Finals with Russ" after him leaving in 2016 as if that **** was recent. It was 4 seasons prior

The grind was always going to be tough for him with Russ as his running mate. It was only going to get worse as his athleticism declined. After several years he’d had enough. The same Russ you see now was the same Russ back then. Many of us on here were on that early. People on here were blinded by the athleticism and dunks, all while we were called madmen. The bad decision making, no jumper and turnovers were there then as well. What you see now with Russ is what it has always been. Terrible basketball. Most athletic point guard ever though. No doubt.

This "grind" talk is hilarious... Y'all dudes severely underestimate how good these dudes are. Even the worst player in the league would wash 98% of the ballers in high school/college. It's a grind just to be a role player with a few minutes. Imagine how much of a grind it is to actually become and stay an elite player for a decade plus. Fans today are a big problem with the product. Instead of talking about the game itself, cats will talk about people's legacies after every game. Y'all don't get tired of that shxt? At the end of the day KD, Westbrook, Steph, Bron, Kawhi and whatever other elite player y'all hate on will all be in the hall of fame.
