The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Begins | Embiid Debut | Klay Return

And the Mavs shot below league average from midrange + 10 feet.

More Rudy minutes in the 2nd half + drop coverage did exactly what it was supposed to do. Limit the wide open corner 3s & encourage more shots from the least efficient area of the floor.

47 points on 41 shots is 1.15 PPS & would have been dead last in the league

Minnesota’s biggest defensive issues were with the Reid/KAT front court. Happened in the Denver series, and now here. That’s what you worry about defensively since Rudy isn’t playing 48 minutes and there’s no adjustment here. Mavs were killing the blitz and the switch.

Maybe just you try to wait until 1 of Kyrie/Luka get subbed before you rest Rudy.

Kidd I’ll lay off of but gobert is going to take a minute :smh:

If they start hitting their 3’s like they usually do this whole narrative shifts

Just wait till Rudy hits this for the game winner in game 7

I happily sit in the middle of this extreme take

Mavs were going directly at Gobert in the 2nd half. I counted like 16 points on his head just in the 3rd quarter. Luka and Kyrie were taking turns throwing lobs over him. Couple times he couldn't get back in transition for easy buckets. He's not really effective against Lively and gafford at all

Speaking of MJ's son, I'm interested to see if he's able to score 20+ points for only the 8th time these playoffs

We may need to have some #conversations if not.
He’s been getting carried but THEY don’t want to talk about it.

Right or wrong I am not worried about Dallas

Good analysis per usual @illsteelo

They shot 70% at the rim in the 3rd and Rudy played the whole quarter pretty much. Also shot better than league average from midrange fir the game. Might be the worst possible matchup for him with 2 athletic bigs and 2 guards that can make him dance if he steps out and punish him in drop. Mavs find their 3 ball and they'll be up 2-0 tonight

Gafford had 8 himself in the 3rd. We don’t need per 100194828:838 possessions
