The Official NBA Season Thread: I’m like Jayson Tatum in the Olympics I'm not playing

There is no Tatum hate. He’s just overrated. And all season people were trying to put him in the MVP convo or best player debates all because of team record and “two way ability”. There were people saying he was on the same level as Luka. And it’s just not the case. Tatum and Brown are wings in a league where all the better wings in the league are out they prime (Kawhi, KD, bron) and they play in a weak *** conference. I give them credit for not forcing things and continuing to play as a team though. That takes maturity.

Is Tatum’s shot selection terrible/frustrating at times?Yes….Is he overrrated? No,he’s rated where he should be.He’s a top 5-7 player, people just have unrealistic expectations of him. 5 ECF & 2 finals appearances in 7 seasons is elite stuff, people gotta chill on him.

Interested to see what kind of adjustments Dallas can make. Boston isn’t going to/doesn’t need to double Luka/Cryrie and they are completely taking away the lobs and corner 3s.

Defensively they could stop loading up so much on Tatum, but then he’s gonna take advantage of that.

Same type of talk like in 2022. Saw some positives, especially when Mavs made a nice run.

This series far from over. Mavs had a bad game, they will adjust

Windy is looking leaner than ever. Really happy that he’s taking his health seriously. Fellas get those prostates checked out. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer but because he stays active and gets regular check ups they caught it extremely early and he will be fine.

I didnt like how they helped off Derrick White way too much

Besides that what adjustments can they make?

Their defense was horrendous. Every Celtic shot seemed wide open.

-I'd rather let the Jays iso than give help. Same with KP, but he burned them doing so.
-IDK if this is the series for Gafford. Might give him a quick hook.
-If JB is going to pressure Luka like he did last night, may need to let Kyrie or even PJ bring the ball up instead.

No superstars, true underdog team :pimp:

And during that run the Celtics roster besides Brown and Tatum has completely changed. Those two are the only constants, which suggests they have a lot to do with all the sustained winning at a high level.

Kyrie doesn’t seem to have full confidence in his three-ball at the moment.

He went full Paul George and hit the side of the backboard on his first 3pt attempt last night. But overall, Boston just had every answer for CTC

Bro took 16 shots to score 16 points and many media members are going to excuse the inefficiency.

How about we give Brad Stevens credit, for building this roster. And Ainge credit for fleecing teams. And give the whole team credit. They were in the ECF before Tatum was even there with Jaylen Brown and IT. They are a well oiled machine.
