Why? They count as regular season games until the chip game.

Courts definitely need to be checked for safety in the future though.

I think that's part of the genius in the IST being in November and the beginning of December. Players have less of an excuse to injury/load manage early in the season.

I hope they change the name of the IST to the NBA Cup. I always read IST as a word and not an abbreviation
