The Official NBA Season Thread: SFA Prevails

Knicks open -6.5 for game one & -225 for the series.

Not trying to play the 2 seed underdog card, but both of those seem high IMO. They present a totally different style than Philly.

That being said, they also have to deal with OG likely on Siakam, McBride/Donte on Haliburton, and they don't have anyone to slow down Brunson.

Completely different series. I dont like how everyone has us picked.

Turner and MCConnell usually kill us

While antidope antidope is in here wearing a suit jacket with a tie and no shirt  :smh: the criticism about Embiid in the playoffs is valid.

He was much much better this postseason compared to prior years but he went Casper a lot in the 4th quarters whether that be to injury, fatigue or a combination of both.

The all time greats are judged by what they do in May and June. Hell Joker would be catching this same type of heat if he and the Nuggets didn't make that championship run last season.

For as great as he is Embiid has come up short in his playoff career and the criticism he gets won't stop until that changes.

I think Embiid playing how he did better prepared us for Turner. Our bigs are usually hesitant to get out on stretch bigs but they had to this series. Precious should get some run at the 5, too.

Also,

Exactly. That’s how this works. MJ and Bron were both arguably the best players in the game before they won rings and still got slander until they finally broke through to a championship. Nobody is above it.

embiid dont have the help that Jokic has.. thats not an embiid problem thats a FO issue

jokic no doubt makes his team better but the team also not collapsing when he goes to the bench nor is MPJ scoring 0 points in a playoff game

embiid has to be perfect for them to win. Everyone expects him to rebound, score, block for 4 qrts straight. its impossible

they way yall talk you guys expect him to drop 60+ with 20 rebounds and 8 assist a game

if hes slightly off its all jokes but when hes playing good like he did this series its crickets

yall cant knock his playoff performance this season so instead its now focus on the 4th

but how about WHO kept them in all these games to be able to have close 4ths? that aint talked bout though

steady moving goalpost

They disregard the draft (which is weird because they did well on the way to the Finals), can't trade Grayson Allen until October, probably can't trade Nurkic so the only trade assets they have are Roddy and Nas Little, with #22.

Having to depend on Ben Simmons and most recently Tobias certainly doesn't help.

At least y'all have Maxey.

He was aight at best last night but he's a dawg not scared of the moment.

Compliment Embiid's game very well.

Up to Morey to add the pieces.

Another point about the Nuggets is that core has been together for several years, adding pieces here and there like MVKCP and Gordon. Joker said himself that their continuity is a big reason for their success now.

Hopefully Sixers can do the same would like to see Embiid conquer those playoff demons.

embiid brought this up last night during his closing presser

he has had to deal with new core of guys just about every year. its hard to win with new guys

embiid dropped the nuggets as his first team with how successful they are

its not embiid fault fultz got the yipps and simmons was scared to shoot

he is very happy about maxey though and think its a great starting point for the next few years

I have some thoughts on everything.

1. SAS is a scum and a 🤡. He uses his personal relationships with guys to get access but then throws them under the bus publicly for clicks and views. Durant was right about this guy. He’s the same guy sticking up for Jerry Jones who was literally fighting against integration.

2. The MJ slander prior to his first championship was pretty bad. lawdog1 lawdog1 is absolutely right. He was called a hype job and a loser before he won.

3. Tobias has to be better and him not playing well isn’t Joel’s fault but heavy is the crown. When Murray was out with the ACL, MPJ was out with the back and the Nuggets were rolling out Bums like Campazzo no one cared and Jokic got the slander.

4. I sometimes wonder if Kawhi and Joel will become this generation’s Penny and Grant Hill. Both are more successful than those guys but the injuries are robbing them and us.

5. I hate the new CBA

r/sixers - Maxey's stats with and without Embiid this series:

this aint a knock on Maxey at all but ya lets trade embiid cause thats what the HATERS say to do

Embiid impact alone just being on the court has a huge impact on the game whether he is 60% or 100%

They complement each other VERY well

but most wouldnt know cause they just box score watch and dont know ball
