The Official NBA Season Thread: USA Setting Up for a SFA

Distant second option would be

Russ for Brunson Mitchell and Obi. No picks
Obi is off the table unless it’s for someone stepping in to be the now/future starting PF.

JB might be around for at least another szn. Unless someone like ZW or Yannis, of that caliber player, gets unhappy then his contract is gonna prolly be needed.

Jeez this trade is awful. Mitch for Russ & no picks? That’s the fleece of league history u trying to pull.

Lol dude I’m joking.

Lolakers can keep Disabled but they’ll still need a pf who plays like one. They also need shooting.

By the time the deadline rolls around & LA is still fighting for a play-in spot. No trade partners emerging to help them hopefully.

Randle homecoming. The French baguette adds some much needed shooting. IQ can do the same thing Russ is for pennies on the dollar relatively.

It’s gonna be pricey for the desperate Lakeshow with whomever they end up dealing with.

Took Cam off the table cuz it looks like he may get some time in the rotation after all.
Lol lol lol lol lol

Randle can’t play with Bron and AD. He adds nothing for rim protection and doesn’t help AD with guarding 5s. This trade stinks

It’s like Frank NT and Hayes missed the cut off for the talent

It's like your Joel Anthonys, Magloires, Dalemberts making up the earlier generations of Canadian pros before the explosion in talent over the last decade.

The talent pool always gets better over time and the more the game develops in other countries

Generally yes, but not always it seems. After the wave of guys from Brazil and Argentina that played in the NBA in the 2000s and 2010s, I expected there to continue to be guys from those countries in the league and it hasn’t really happened. But Eastern European countries have picked up where those places left off.

Lakers should have picked up Isiah Roby when the Thunder inexplicably waived him. He is smaller than AD but AD wants to ***** out and guard the 4, Roby will happily defend bigger players. Same with Mamadi Diakite

There's not the same cross generational cultural appeal and affinity for the game that European and other North American countries have for the sport imo where guys get inspired by compatriots making it and truly start to believe they've got a chance at making it pro if they take it seriously.

Euro League ball has been big for a while now, there isn't really an equivalent in South America

Much like Football, Europe took over Basketball too.

Brazil and Argentina haven’t been able to compete.

They haven’t been able to keep up.

People play basketball in Brazil but the infrastructure isn’t quite there.
