The thing is, if I was Morey and thought “Okay, we are going to trade James for a nice lil package” and something suitable wasn’t presented to me then I would be fine keeping James because he turns 34 in two weeks with only one sizable payday left in his career AND there is this obscure CBA clause so there is zero incentive for him to hold out, put on the fat suit, throw games/tank, etc. He has to go out and be the best player he can be if not for Philly but at least for himself if he wants to get paid in the future.
It’s not the best situation to put yourself in if you are Philadelphia but a what should be motivated Harden is better than scraps. And if he really plans on throwing this year away and that it won’t have severe ramifications in the future then he truly is delusional.
