doc does get some wild opportunities, but in his defense he's also been paired with some of the biggest playoff chokers we've seen in the past 20 years.... and they have failed at the same rate w/o doc

Ring culture hadn't become the unavoidable phenomenon that it is now though
, that all happened post-The Decision.They'd get some of that talk but there was no widespread downplaying of them as players ever. KG was still a main face of the league and Pierce was highly respected as one of the best scorers in the world.

For a franchise that was nothing before him, the chip was nice but I don't think he needed it to be immortalized.

Going to disagree. A HOF career is one thing but being a top 25-40 player ever is another. He doesn’t enter that conversation with just a WCF L on his resume IMO
