The Official Netflix Thread Tho: Recommend Streaming Movies

Black Panther sucked until MBJ came and beat his ***. I gotta finish it now. He should’ve finished weak *** blank panther right there instead of throwing him down the water fall.

Lemme finish this trash later...

Finished Maniac pretty good stuff!
Only complaints is that I wished it was 8 episodes instead of 10 just because a couple of the latter episodes dragged for me. I will admit I already had a preconceived notion about them, since when I saw it in the trailers it completely turned me off to it.

You struggled to finish? I couldn't get enough. Thought season 2 was terrific.

I've seen the first two episodes of Maniac so far. Definitely intriguing.

Yea man, took my a few eps to get into S1 but ended up being solid. All the characters get under my skin I thinks that's my issue

Was trying to finish Iron Fist until Netflix hit me with Maniac. It's interesting that Jonah is going to release a movie that kind of resembles Kids and Telly from Kids is in this show.

I’m struggling to get through it just like S1. Marty so oblivious to everything around him yet I’m expected to believe he’s been employed by a cartel for a decade.

I don't think hes oblivious just juggling way too many unpredictable factors.
Between his wife
The snells
Lil curly hair blonde chick.
Cartel dude
Fbi agent.
On top of him dealing with his insecurites because of his wife . amd long time partner getting shot in his face for dealing with cartel he knew nothing about initially.
Iirc correctly he jist got thrown in to the cartel thing. I think he knew some money was being skimmed but kept his head out of it. (He kay had been offerex a decade ago but declined) dont quote me

Maniac is.......I don’t even know what Cari Cori Funkanik is doing here, what we his name is.
Ep1-2 I thought we’re cool.
It’s been kind of a chore since we got inside the Trials....on ep7 currently, dudes a Mobster and Chicky’s a Elf from the Hobbit?......yea this some odd *** **** right now.....tbd

Maniac is like a gumbo of Inception, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Legion, Cloud Atlas and 80’s fantasy and crime dramas. It’s more straightforward than Legion though, making it easier to understand. Definitely enjoyed it. I have to rewatch certain scenes because there’s a lot of info that keeps getting reused in the dream sequences. For instance, when Geto Boys “Mind Playing Tricks On Me” plays during the dream, it actually appears in the first episode when Owen is talking to his father and a car drives by playing it.

Oh there are Nuggets everywhere.
Like when she signed into the Insane Asylum place where Owen was, the name of the patient above is “Wendy Lemuria”......Wendy was the Lemur that they stole in ep2-3

I'm trying to watch Maniac but I find it very meh. I'm on ep 6 & struggling to finish it. I feel obligated to finish it at this point. Maybe I feel this way because I don't like jonah hill. I will say Emma Stone is a fantastic actress. Also think Cary Fukunaga has done an excellent job with very meh material. I love how projects like this use low-fi sci-fi like Netflix's Must (directed by Bowie's son Duncan Jones starring Alexander Skarsgard).

This show reminds me of getting corned by the relative at Thanksgiving or Christmas (the one you like to avoid) that takes 30-40 mins telling a 5-10 min story. This show could've been done as a movie just fine.

I almost feel like it’s an SNL skit & I’m just waiting for it to drop the punchlines & then go to commercial.

so just to confirm I should start watching "The Innocents" or is there a better series I should start?

completed Ozarks, OITNB, Stranger Things, All Marvel series, The 100.

If you “can’t get through/struggling to get through” Ozark then I honestly think something is mentally wrong with you.

I feel that strongly about it :lol

Like what show CAN you get through if you can’t get through Ozark?
