THE OFFICIAL NIKE KOBE FOOTWEAR THREAD: RIP LEGEND 1978-2020. MAMBA FOREVER | 8-24-24

Just walking on wood floor I don't notice a difference. Same as the Avar colorway with translucent on the bottom. Will get a better assessment on a gym floor tomorrow. The sole is hard like the XI too. Makes clanking sounds when I heel strike. The AD sole is softer that's why I prefer them over the NXT.

All the reviews I've read are that the NXT is very similar to the XI.

However, all the reviews I've read about the XI is that major weakness is the traction is inconsistent.

From a performance standpoint, is the traction on the NXT a major improvement on the XI?
I haven't played in the XI, but I wear the Black Space casually & I don't think I can play in them. The traction on the NXT is very consistent. I've played in them 5 times & haven't wiped them off once.  Once a month I usually get to the gym early & dust the court off. I've played on it before & after & had really good traction before the dusting & great traction afterwards.

Says the seller is from New England, howd you guys get the black NXTs  3 days after buying?

The shroud has a slight blue gray hue to it but overall the shoe is still full of gorgeousness.

Three aren't touching the ground until I land in Cali in 2 weeks.

do you guys buy these mainly for the performance? I've been avoiding them and sticking to the regular ADs.. these to me don't look like they are worth $200. very simplistic and kind of remind me of slip on vans or something so i've avoided them

I purchased mainly for comfort and fashion. I just love this shoe, I have the volt and grey pair. Really like the lacing system and the comfort. Plus, I get a lot of compliments when I wear the grey pair.

I guess I have good fashion taste, the big man himself wears these too.

I bought the grey pair strictly for ball & the white pair to wear casually. I'll most likely get another pair for ball & every release after that would also be for ball. These are THE best shoe I've ever played in so I'm trying to have a fleet of these joints like Storm Troopers.

Have you played in either of yours or are they both strictly for fashion?

Went today to look at the NXTs.  Passed on them at $160, but think these will the one NXT I pick up later on down the line.  There just isn't any reason to pay anything even remotely close to retail for any Kobe releases anymore.  They're out there in such substantial numbers, and theres zero hype.  Until a retro gets released, it's just 'wait till it's under $100' for any Kobe release.  This is as quiet as the Kobe line has been since the move from Adi.  Hype doesn't matter, the sneaker does, and my interest will always be there for the line the way it's been for 15 years, but it is a lot more fun when there is 'buzz' and hype around a line you're interested in.  Kobes are flatline right now.   This forum at 89 pages as others have mentioned kinda says it all.  Really hope Nike gives this line a shot in the arm with retros soon.

There's no 'hype' because of fanboys. There's a difference between liking a shoe because of the shoe & liking a shoe because of the athlete. If Kobe was still playing it would've been the usual dislike of the sketches, rumored & official pics, then they'd see Kobe playing in them & this thread would have a 4 or 5 in front of the 89. Although I love the performance of the NXT, I do feel that it's way overpriced. The A.D. should've been no more than $130 & NXT no more than $160. But it's more of a hype & fashion day & age rather than the performance of a basketball shoe.

I disagree, the ADs were such a failure in every way, from marketing to bad reviews...

Meanwhile, today on ESPN...

We both know these aren't/haven't been the only ones; and these cats play ball at the highest level. The shoe wasn't/isn't a failure. Some people just preferred to take someone else's word for it rather than try them out for themselves. I do agree with you on there not being any marketing for the shoe.

There's nothing special about them and a downgrade from previous models, I could give two ***** about if Wall or IT are wearing them, they're going to do their thing regardless if they're wearing ADs or sandals.

Wall rockin the Black/Hyper Violets tonight

But they're wearing A.D.'s. Consistently. Sooooo......... point not valid. Either way, like I said, if Kobe were still playing & wearing them cats would be all over them. Point blank, period.
