THE OFFICIAL NIKE KOBE FOOTWEAR THREAD: RIP LEGEND 1978-2020. MAMBA FOREVER | 8-24-24

Really lost out on 50+ raffles/locations for these. Infuriating seeing people with multiple pairs.

Wow 50?

I didn't enter 1 and sadly were in the same boat.

Anyone here remember the Philly’s and breds were $60 on Eastbay back when they first released with the Mr. Rebates cashback? Good times.
$39 when you could order from an outlet and after tax and shipping still was below the shipping limit. Ordered another pair and the total was still under $100. Good times indeed.

Took 3 L's, really only wanted the 8's for ball. Don't think I can justify $300 for a pair to play in. Hope SNKRS bless me in the next drop.

i have a feeling the demand for kobes far exceeds the demand for any of the above

Because they perform so well on the court. And Nike hasn’t innovated **** in 10 plus years in terms of basketball shoes. Last innovation worth a damn was flyknit. And the best shoes will have the basis of what made the AJ11s so iconic. Fully zoom with a carbon fiber shank plate with herringbone traction.

Basically Nike barely has improved shoes since 1997.

Nike can literally print money with this line but they don't want to.
They don’t even have to do retroes. Just make a new Kobe sig. The tooling was in between the Lebron and KD (not counting the Jordan’s). Kobe seemed to favor light weight, that could cut with semi decent cushion compared to the buoy space boot cushioning Lebrons needed.

They know they’re just playing the supply/demand game. Maybe the Sabrina’s and new Lebrons are the new Kobe’s…

I love Kobes, but there are honestly decent replacements out there at least if people really wanted low cut, lightweight shoes. At least if people don't wanna shell out resell prices for a pair of kobes.

Zoom strobel > most other cushioning setups in my opinion

I like Kobe’s for nostalgia reasons but i don’t think they’re the best performance shoes out at the moment
