THE OFFICIAL NIKE KOBE FOOTWEAR THREAD: RIP LEGEND 1978-2020. MAMBA FOREVER | 8-24-24

Minus the Kobe 1 (MPLS) & the Orcas, I didn't start wearing Kobe's regularly until the 5 as well. After the poor sales the Kobe 1 had (in the Nashville area), they weren't ready available in that part of the country until right before the 5 came out when 4's started hitting the Nike outlet at Opry Mills mall.
I have a narrow foot so the 4's might've worked for me, but when I tried them on at the outlet they just didn't feel right to play in. The Kobe 5 however, I had close to 10 pair of those.
Yeah out of all the Kobes, 5s were the most I’ve had. Those were so good once you stepped into one and those were TTS even for wide feet. However to me the protro 5s were a different story. I had to size up on those. Don’t know why, maybe my feet are getting fat.

Nah man, your feet aren't getting fat. They're making these Protros snug as hell. I used to have to double sock my Sulfurs & Kobe 8 iD's because I have a narrow foot. So I went with my normal size for the gray & red TB's but I have to wear 1 pair of thin socks with them sh¡ts. For the Protro Aways, I went up one size & am able to wear one normal sized sock with it.

How are the 6s and ankle support?

Got a history of ankle sprains, usually wear a brace. Reading mixed reviews.

I can only speak on the OG VI's & not any protros, but the one ankle sprain I had in mine was from coming down on someone's foot, which is inevitable when it comes to ankle sprains. Other than that, from the Kobe V on down to the AD NXT's (never owned the 7's or 9's), they've always had good ankle support for me.

The 6’s have always been a pretty supportive shoe for me because it’s fit and base. I personally don’t wear braces but I’d imagine that you might need to go up a 1/2 size to accommodate it. Just speculating of course

Scrolling through the gallery. Man, I these shoes & socks!

I got those pairs but the sole separated. Is that Kobe restoral still a thing? I know they were overwhelmed with jobs.

I forgot all about the socks. Some of the 8's they intentionally didn't have the whole logo so they could try and sell the socks

I never got the socks, because I've never been a big fan of ankle socks

Those socks were the only non no-show socks I had; then my nephew stole them sh¡ts. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤣

I loved all the accessories they released around the time. The tees, the socks, the ads.

Great time.

Thank you. I always wondered why my sulfurs don’t have the full logo

Just need the home colorway of those 8s. Have the rest of what he posted. Actually wore my Gold Medals/olympics yesterday :nthat:

Only pair that I’ve worn for now. Very simple but clean colorway
This dude on Instagram said he wished the outsole was black on that pair. I said the white outsole is what makes the shoe pop & able to be worn casually, even with non-Laker stuff.
