rikan: thanks man, i distinctly remember your shots from the older threads. i love those 'surreal/avant garde/art' type model shots, don't know how else to describe it, and would love to get into that one day. moar please

chaos: to my surprise the recoil of the shotty was much more easier to control than all the handguns we were shooting. we had a little .22 with us also and now i don't ever care to shoot .22's again. it was about half the size of my hands and recoil was the worst.

to see before and after pics. i'm curious, since you don't shoot the images, is your pp ideas a collabo with the photog? or are they strictly your own, or does the photog say 'i want this, this, and this' done?

well it depends, the studio i work full time for, the art director/photog gives us the basic concept/direction, then we'll push the idea and effects or they'll give us pictures of what they kind of want.  when i do my freelance, its kind of the same thing, but sometimes the photographer is unsure of what they want, so ill come up with some quick comps of whats possible.  with photogs ive worked with a lot in the past, they'll give me an image and tell me to do my magic.  hope that answers ur ?'s

Funk man....nice to see your work again. The post processing on those are so apparent but yet, looks so damn good. Probably has to do with the way the girls are stylized but it compliments the look very well. Good stuff.....

One of my favorite photographs I've taken.  My twins.  I really wish I could've used a larger aperture to blurr out the truck in the background, but I had to take this one real quick before they moved.

justo: ahh gotcha. i only ask cuz i would think you knew exactly what you wanted in a picture. kinda like how a dj knows what people want to hear/song selection then eventually starts to makes his own music...or something along those lines lol it's early, haven't had my caffeine fix yet

Question..so I am leaning towards my next lens purchase and am undecided between the 50 1.4 or the 85 1.8 - I should also note both will be on a crop body and I already own a 50 1.8. Does anyone have experience with both and a suggestion/recommendation?

I dont think its worth the extra stop.
