I disagree. There’s plenty of other reasons why people don’t take TGA serious, this doesn’t help. No matter how you look at it, it’s an add-on (DLC, expansion, etc.) and should be categorized as one. We just got Phantom Liberty last year and it wasn’t eligible to be nominated for GotY despite how well it was received. This seems like Geoff doing his best to keep ensure he gets that next FROM reveal :{

In any case, being eligible doesn't mean they will get the nod. Geoff isn't involved in selecting the nominees.

I keep saying I’m done watching TGA live but after last year, I think I’m really done. I’m not sure what time/date it’s on but I can’t stay up that late if I have work the next day. The last few years just haven’t done it for me. If we can get a Naughty Dog reveal, Final Fantasy IX reveal and/or a new Castlevania, I’ll be content .

I've been dying for a new Castlevania game!

With all the collabs they’ve been doing, there’s gotta be one in the making. I think Konami may be gauging interest. The show is successful too. This is the perfect time.
I'm surprised Nintendo didnt release one on the Switch all of these years. They coulda made a dope side scroller like they did with the DS games. Would be cool if Sony releases something like that.

Dad Question here:

What’s the advice on having a 11 and 12 year olds and getting them each their own consoles? And tvs to game on? Anyone do this or do you make your kids share 1? In bedroom or out?

And if they did this they’re gonna want to game together meaning PS+ accounts.

Right now my kids share a switch on a 36” 1080p tv in a smaller flex area of my house. I occasionally let them use my ps5. I was thinking about getting them each a ps5 slim and a 42” LG C4 for their rooms for Christmas gifts this year. Then next year whenever “Switch 2” comes out they can add that on a Xmas gift that year. They get their primary accounts this way and are set for teenage years.

Price aside I’m debating whether this is a good idea or not.

Never had to worry about someone’s gaming hobby other than my own.

I have PS5s and monitors for all my boys. Their setup is right next to mine behind our dining room. This allows for them to play their own games without arguing and fighting. They’re 16, 10 and 4 so they play different stuff. Them being next to me allows us to see what they’re playing at all times. For the most part, they’re limited to only playing on weekends until about 8-9pm. We’ll give our 16 yr old a lot more flexibility since he’s usually tied up with school extracurricular school activities on weekends.

Can you still do the game share thing where you only need one PS+ account?

Only once. My youngest daughter just relinquished the switch oled and set up her new ps5 slim & projector combo last night… only 1 console allowed for game share. Then it also takes two players who aren’t concerned with trophies and such.

I don’t know I was reading something on that earlier

Thanks for the feed back. Wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy for getting 2 slims. I assume you got the headsets. I thought about going the monitor route also. I’m torn and going back and forth. Then I’m seeing thing of the benefits of tvs, HDR etc. and I’m not keen on the room idea but it’s the only place they really have room. Crazy how much I spoil them consider how I grew up. My parents would be like helllll no!

Thanks for clarifying.

If you think it's on there to curry favor from FromSoft, you should really be shaking your head at Wukong.
I haven’t played Wukong yet nor have I followed or care about the politics involving the game. I don’t know what the issue was but as soon as people start talking about a game being woke (there’s another acronym that has started being used but I don’t remember what it is) I ignore all discourse, I’d rather play and form my own opinion. My bad if you were trying to make another point but I saw people online pissed about Wukong but for reasons that don’t have anything to do with how it plays, story, boss fights, etc.

That said, it’s still a full fledged game, not a DLC. I personally would have liked to see Infinite Wealth get a nomination.

I love FromSoft. But that is foul! Its a slight to other development teams.

Just create a new category. Might even make some more effort on what DLC should be.
This. Phantom Liberty received huge praise last year and surely would have beat out something in that category last year but DLC wasn’t allowed to be voted on.

Are there any other good YouTube channels that focus on reporting on gaming, studios, consoles, etc. other than IGN? 8o

Gameranx

They put out game related topic lists everyday, do review videos called Before You Buy where they give their thoughts on the latest games and/or consoles.

They have one on the PS5Pro on their channel now:

They also do a weekly video every Friday where they talk about the latest gaming news across all consoles.

EYE have been a subscriber for years.
