The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

It's a great game. It's an MMO so it's very time consuming. If I were to compare it to another FF game, I'd say FF XII.

If you arent an MMO fan but a Final Fantasy fan, I really recommend you still give it a look. You can play through the story with only minimal play with other people. (You need to do a couple battle in groups). The story is much better than anything they've put out in the last 10 years.

Thanks for the info guys I'm gonna give it a try and see how I like it

I think Chicago would be pretty dope. Or maybe Baltimore, on some Wire steez. More than cities though I would rather see different character types. Like have one of the characters you play as (since I don't see GTA going back to single characters again) be a corrupt cop or politician. Or maybe a powerful public figure with hood ties ala Ghost from Power.
How about Seattle? But I would like chicago that's a good one too. Didn't think of Baltimore

I say they do a European country. How sick would it be to be driving in cobblestone streets in a Mini Cooper or a Vespa with all those old European buildings. Or taking someone out with a sniper rifle overlooking those Mediterranean cliffs.

Europeans are easy to make fun of and also have a scummy underground/black market.

my local target has buy one psn store card, get the 2nd 25% off. I was going to bite to pay for the destiny expansion dlc but ill wait until what BF has to offer

Try deleting the game install and re installing the game. If that doesn't work boot the system into safe mode and rebuild the database.

I've beat 7 so many times a remaster wouldn't do anything for me, I'd still buy for nostalgia. I hate how people call it overrated, its the most popular/best selling for a reason, people like it.

I still don't know why X-X2 got a remaster before any of the PS1 titles.

However never beat 8, put it down during disc 3 and couldn't remember what was going on when i came back to it. Between that and watching GF's a thousand times I needed a break. Going to start again on 8 during the Christmas holidays.

I think VII had a lot of hype behind it. It was the first 3D FF game and first time on PS. VII is a great game but it's definitely not the best, FF VI >>>

Are you sure it would do nothing?

They won't use pre-rendered backgrounds. The whole aesthetics of the game will have to be changed. Voice acting instead of text.

A remaster would be huge IMO and a big task.

My Favourite FF too, :hat

Child of Light made plenty of money

Child of Light, the side-scrolling RPG from Patrick Plourde and a small team of Ubisoft developers, made serious money.

Child of Light is one of a number of titles like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Valiant Hearts which are the result of a new initiative at Ubisoft to try out smaller projects and give developers creative freedom and control.

Speaking to GamesIndustry, Plourde said the project more than made back Ubisoft’s investment in it.

“It’s not as profitable as Assassin’s Creed is profitable, but it’s profitable enough that we would have been able to fund a sequel,” Plourde said.

“Or if it had been my company, I would be driving a Ferrari and doing donuts.”

That probably sounds like a lot of money, but for a company as big as Ubisoft it may be just a blip in the charts and not of much interest to investors. Still, the existence of Child of Light and similar endeavours, like Alex Hutchinson’s upcoming project, creates diversity in the publisher’s catalogue and is a good way to foster and reward talented development staff.

“The main reason why I got greenlit on the project was because I had carte blanche for making Far Cry 3,” Plourde said.

“I didn’t want to make Far Cry 3, but they said, ‘Pat, if you do that and help build that brand, we’re going to give you a free shot at the game you want.’”

Plourde said that the personal creative project was rewarding in a way big triple-A games had not been, as his playable poem touched players in different ways.

Child of Light cost Ubisoft a “couple of million”, mostly salaries for the 40 staff who worked on bringing it to multiple platforms at launch.

Just thought I'll throw in some good news from Ubisoft :lol

We need more games like this. I hope this and Hellblade usher back in games which don't need massive budgets but can still be successful.
