The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Yeah I regret not playing the multiplayer for the last of us. Would of platinum that game if I would of put time in to it

It isn't? Please explain, and list 3 games with A.I. this advance... I'll wait.

You think tlou2 gameplay is groundbreaking?
When I think of groundbreaking gameplay I think of

portal
Bioshock
Shadow of the colossus

in no order. Just 3 that came into my mind

The improvements made in Pt. II has me liking the sequel more.

- The Dodge button is clutch. It makes the melee combat viable. The clickers can be hard to shake .

-Crawling adds gives you more ways to approach encounters. It's not OP because...

-The humans can come looking for you where they'd expect you to hide. And the dogs make you keep moving. They'll flush you out of the grass. It's not a safe zone by any means.

- The encounter design overall is much improved.

-Not exactly sure how listen mode works, but if I'm not mistaken, in this one, not every enemy will show up. And the enemy's signature doesn't last forever. I could be wrong, but I believe it was more simplistic in the first one.

-There is a bunch of choices in the options. I'm playing on normal mode for my first playthrough, but I turned the resource option to hard because I felt I had too much in my backpack. You can tailor it more than any game like this that I've played.

The accessibility options are impressive. Some stuff in there that I used, in fact. You can see why the game gets praised for this aspect. There are just tons of ways for people to play the game.

Funny thing about listen mode; somehow after the tutorial in Part 1, I managed to get through the game in both Hard and Survivor without using it. I don't know how but I forgot about it until I saw someone using it in a stream. It definitely would have made that hospital scene a lot easier I think :lol

Finished Devil May Cry 5.

Great game, lots of action.

A challenge like other DMC games. Hand to pause a few times to rest my hands :lol

Bad Religion Bad Religion

A game that has trophies based on difficulty that you choose. There are 6 difficulties.

I just ran it in normal and got about 11 trophies without even knowing.

Maybe that's a game you should look into soon.

More than Spider-Man which had the record before.

Spider-Man - 3.3M in 3 days
God of War - 3.1M in 3 days

Been a good gen for Sony. The growth of their exclusives this gen is immense.

Part 1 took 6 and a half years to reach 20 million sales across PS3 & PS4.
Part 2 has done 4 Million in 3 days with a PS5 upgrade also likely to come.

Now lets see if bad word of mouth will affect the game's sales

I don't think it'll reach that amount just because if I remember correctly, a lot of those PS4 sales were bundled in with the system.

I'll respect your opinion based on the fact that I loved those three games. You still didn't answer my question though

The fact that a 2013 game can still be bundled in 2019 :hat.

I think it can follow the path of the first game.
It had a PS3 bundle and the PS3 version sold 7 million before the PS4 version came out a year later.

This is at 4 million in 3 days and it could get a PS4 Black Friday bundle and an updated PS5 version can be bundled with other greatest hits.

If it gets a big upgrade for PS5 and you can get a PS4 disk for cheap then it could also see a boost in sales.

I think it can reach 20 million.

Thanks for the recommendation! I have always been on the fence with that series. I had a teammate in college who loved DMC and played at a pretty high level, getting crazy high combo numbers. Watching him I think made it seem like an intimidating game.

If I find it for the right price I will give it a shot. Is DMC 5 the best option to start with?

So I replaced the thermal paste and pads on my almost 3 year old white PS4 Pro and the fan system still runs loud when playing any games on it. Not sure what else to do next.

I've been looking on google, reddit, Reset Era, and Neogaf.

Troy Baker really does cry through a lot of that KF video. Role was obviously pretty important to him, which translates to his performance.

Fell down a bit of a Wikipedia hole to find out that he and Nolan North had a bit of a falling out while doing their Retro Replay Youtube/Twitch show. Kind of sad, those two were hilarious together.

Been playing GOW. Those Valkarie fights are so damn fun. I keep dying, but I know their move sets. Just need to power myself up and get some damage on those foos. When I power up I’m finna whoop them ***

Continuing through TLOU2:
- I liked how the story leads Ellie and Dina to Seattle. Then later Jesse joins the fun.
- I was shocked at how quick they ended Jesse. I really thought he'd stick around the entire game. (Hell, I thought Joel would too, but here we are)
- The plot twist with Dina being pregnant is meh.
- Ellie going back to the hospital to find out what really happened was good to see. She finally understood the truth and understanding why they had a falling out. Sucks that she held on to that anger towards him till the very end.
- I am now at the part of the game where I'm playing Abby where she's trying to get to the Aquarium to look for Owen.
- First of all, holy *uck this chic k is brolic.
- Nice tie-in at the fact her dad was the doctor that was to perform surgery on Ellie.
- Does it warrant revenge to go and kill Joel. Ehhhhh, but I can see why you'd want revenge.

I'm hoping to get through more of the game tonight after work. If this is what people were complaining about the game, then okay. But I want to finish the game before I come to my rating of the game. I honestly have little interest in Abby's back story other than the fact she has a really cool rifle and her skill set is fun to use.

But so far, I'm enjoying the game and the graphics and lighting. (Following the sunset was nice. I can't even imagine how that would look on the PS5.

When y’all are going for the plats, are you guys using the webs to find like “treasuries” here and there? Or straight up blind.?

i know when I plat B:AA there was like a couple of riddler trophies that were bothering me :lol

I’m try and go for the plat in GOW. Thank god it doesn’t require Multi
