The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Yea, this RPG a month is proving difficult.

I did an audible and started Star Ocean: The Last Hope after Tales of Berseria kept freezing on me. I forgot how long that damn game is, but it is a blast.
The GOAT Star Ocean game :smokin

I was playing that one as well but stopped because I had to attend an Army school. I'll get back to it for sure.

I picked up Star Ocean back when it first launched on the 360. Absolutely loved it. The story, characters, gameplay, everything.

Got to a part about halfway through the game I guess where you have to fight like 10 rounds of "phantom solders" or something like that.

Tried to finish that fight for about 3 years. Never could do it. Completely messed up the game for me.

I bought the remastered edition for the PS4, but I haven't even booted it up yet. Don't know if I want to invest all that time in it just to get to that fight again, then spend another 3 years trying and failing to beat it  :smh:

Damn you were close to the end of it. I remember that fight very well cause it took me a few tries

I know exactly the part you're talking about; I think its on a beach if I remember correctly?

I had difficulty on the PS3 version, but I did end up beating it. I am playing the PS4 remaster on a harder difficulty so my plan was to power-level a bit in the earlier stages. I'll try and remember to let you know how it goes.

Ah man, don't tell me that was near the end

Exactly where it was. I thought I had leveled up enough to always be ahead in the game but guess not

Its probably safe to say PS5/Xbox will be hitting right around this timeframe.

Add in the exclusives that will be launching at the same time, November is going to be a bloodbath. I'll probably pass on new Destiny content for the first time since vanilla D1.

Just the man I wanted to talk to. What's the deal with the Destiny Vault update? I was legit considering getting back into D2 on next gen. I saw something about them cutting back a lot of older content to include raids and the campaign. The Leviathan Raid was named as one of them. Will this disable trophies? I was actually looking forward to completing that raid but didn't want to play until PS5. Now I'm just considering being done with it forever :ohwell:

The story is hilariously cheese for sure.

The catch for me (and still is) the combat. You can rattle off some good combos as you open up the skills. SO5 just didnt feel the same to me at all.

Ya'll saw that CoD is apparently releasing a "cross gen" bundle? Basically you're not getting a "free" upgrade. We'll most likely have to pay extra top get access to both current gen and next gen. I'm most likely just going to hold out for next gen. I don't have to have CoD day one.

according to this video, they are taking things out to have them rebuilt with the mindset of the new tech. I don't know if its BS but its not that long of a video.

Yea... kind of a big issue in the community. Basically the game is too big with all these updates, so they are "sunsetting" items, raids, and entire destinations/planets to make it more focused and allow for more new content. All the Leviathan raids are deep sixed for sure, along with one or two more. This entire season they have been running "uncapped" raids for these; meaning there is no weekly limit to loot.

As for trophies I havent read what will happen, but there are a couple of possibilities. One, they change the trophy requirements. They have already done this once, so definitely possible it happens again. Two, they become unearnable for a time, but Bungie has stated they will rotate through some content season to season, so you may have to wait for it to come back.

Regardless, it became a game where I found myself playing simply to keep up with the "new" content, but not really enjoying the new content itself. I'll go back, but their reliance on FOMO was getting a bit egregious to me.

That all said, between now and November would be a good time for that Prestige trophy... lots of groups running all Leviathan raids. Wouldnt be too hard to find a group to carry you.

Good video, but keep in mind Aztec is primarily a PVP player, so his videos always focus on changes from that point of view.
